Forum software upgrade

Once I have the new software running smoothly I am planning to re organise the sections to make them easier to navigate and also to bring them up to date.

Excellent, the receiver section especially is rather out of date - quite a few sections could be moved to a "older receivers" section. The New Channels section could do with some renaming too.

OK for me too (God I love the Snipping Tool)

Indeed, I really like this upgrade in every respect.

A fine job.

Ctrl-I, B U all work correctly here. You need to click the gear wheel icon top right of the posts to change the BB code on or off. (far right from the smilie icon)

Smilies are also working ok from the menu and have a standard / special toggle
I have no cog to click on. In fact I have no icons for anything showing in the scfreenshot.

I do not know if you will be able to implement all the wishes of the users of this forum,but if you want to reorganize the sections,then it is good that they are grouped into specific themes,that is a section for satellite receptions,another for receivers,another for feeds,dvb cards etc.
From my point of view,the focus is on the issue of reception and everything about it. I think that this issue is also the magnet that attracts enthusiasts from Europe or elsewhere.Isn't that the purpose of this forum?Or I'm wrong?
My best regards:D

Yes I reckon thats pretty accurate - we are a technical forum filled with folk who love tinkering with technical things. That might be modifying imported American lnbs, logging every satellite & channel possible with their dishes & receivers, tracking aircraft as they pass over or any one of a hundred other topics :)

@analogue Sat & @Lazarus
When I clicked on the attachments in "View attachments", I get blank pages!

Hmm. Just tried that and it's fine.

I don't really understand why the upgrade presents different issues for different users, regardless if "status", yet some of us are sitting back fat, smug and happy. Very odd.

@Lazarus
Well, both Paul and I were logged in when we made those comments, and so there must be "something not quite right", but I have absolutely no idea what that might be ->so @chris =I think it must be "over to you".

Re. #35
If members report which method/equipment etc they use to access the forum then maybe chris can sort/rectify probs.

Am using asus lappy, win 10 64 bit, pale moon browser and all drivers updated with driver booster.

Can even choose standard or special emojis

No probs here :-applause

@skomedal
Probably a very good point

For my part, it's a pretty old ASUS 1225B nettop with an AMD E-70 CPU (IIRC) , running W7 Home Premium 64 bit and IE 11 - and connected via 802n Wifi.
