Fox / Sky deal brokered

Do we have many Sky subscribers here?

Can't see the resulting organisation being any more or any less polarising than it already is.
 
Wont make any difference the first sky was already owned by the same person who owns 21st century fox
 
So two vulgarians going to be running the show next year then, one either side of the pond.

BSkyB will, of course put any subscriber price hike on hold for the next three years in celebration.

Phone hacking could become a key headache again if this is anything to go by.

The National Union of Journalists say the government should halt the deal until the second stage of the Leveson inquiry, investigating specific phone-hacking allegations at News of the World and elsewhere, has been completed. The NUJ general secretary Michelle Stanistreet said:

It is vital that this deal is halted until part two of the Leveson Inquiry has taken place. Most of the British public do not believe that Rupert Murdoch is a fit and proper person to run BskyB, and whilst there are clear reasons of corporate opportunism that drive his desire to finally clinch this deal, there’s no benefit for the public in this takeover being given the green light.

i think he is fit to run bskyb as sky in 1989 was successful than bsb

Absolutely.

It's a Rich Person's game ... I consider myself adequately well-off, but there's no way I could possibly justify forking out for Subscription TV.

And genuinely poorer folk, especially those who don't realise much of what they watch is actually FREE, can be taken advantage of.

An abridged version of the history of Sky:

in the 80s, they started broadcasting satellite TV, the UK government also got involved (British Satellite Broadcasting) with a technologically superior platform, both got into trouble financially and "merged" to become BskyB, sky sold off all the much better BSB stuff, renamed and closed down BSB channels, then shareholders bought bits and pieces of BskyB over the years including the Murdoch 20th Century Fox empire, they started doing broadband & phone, then the Murdochs bought the rest to do goodness knows what with it...

on the subject of this takeover what is even the point of fox doing this it will just make sky go back to its roots like in 1989

not like that im just trying to say rupert murdoch is going to make sky better again and also who would care if prices change because you will always have freesat so you dont really need sky
