Earlier today, Humax released through their Website Software Version HZPTSF 1.00.23 as an upgrade from HZPTSF 1.00.15.

Strange folk, Programmers ............. shirley 16 comes after 15 ?!

Anyway, as of 16.00z, the same update is available On Air.

Just done mine and it took about 8 minutes to Download and a similar amount of time to Install.

The Box? She lives on (Humax don't seem to have the same capacity as Harvard International for turning Receivers into Toasters).

I'm not sure what bugs have been fixed (or introduced :-rofl2), or what new features there are, but I believe there is an iPlayer enhancement in the offing, so maybe that is part of the upgrade.

Anyone got any more details?

Cribbed from Humax Website:

  • Support for BBC iPlayer service (service availability to be confirmed by freesat please visit _www.freesat.co.uk for information on the launch of the service)
  • Resolved Lip-Sync issue resetting after a power cycle.

  • Improvements for HD subtitles

  • EPG Genre screen now appears in two columns

  • Aspect Ratio resolved when exiting the Guide on a 16:9 programme

  • Resolved issue when right arrow has to be pressed twice to view the next programme on the i-plate

My Loader remains at Version U7.22, although Version U7.24 is available from the Website.

Don't know why this wasn't updated On Air, but perhaps it's a staged procedure.

  • Resolves issues during the Installation Wizard when using a DiSEqC switch.

Apparently the two upgrade packages can be installed in any order, so I'm not sure whether to wait for the Loader to appear OTA or whether to try a USB stick.

Any guinea pigs?

Updated Loader resolves issues during the Installation Wizard when using a DiSEqC switch.

Not sure what the problem was supposed to be - I have the old Loader and set my Foxsat up with a DiSEqC switch without problems.

I have just gone into my Foxsat menu and found that there is a software upgrade available, which I have downloaded. What it says now is:-
Software Version - HZPTSF 1.00.23
System ID - 35F10000
Loader Version - U7.22 (this definitely has not changed)

When I looked on the diagnostic page it said update date 25 Oct 2009.

Do I have the latest software or not?

Yes, that's correct - The date is the publication date, not the issue date:

The Loader U7.24 is only available off air, so do as I did earlier today and go to the Humax website _http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_model.aspx?category_seq=61

Bung the download on a USB stick (they recommend less than 1GB and the Loader is just under 400k:cool:, amend the file name as stated in the instructions _http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_model_tool.aspx?category_seq=61 , then install. Took me about twenty seconds.

There are a few reports of peculiar faults showing up after upgrade.

Although no incontrovertible common link has yet emerged, a few owners have found issues with Vertical Transponders and/or at Frequencies around the Low.High Band transition.

Most people seem to have been successful either via OTA or Off Air installation.

No response from Humax yet - apart from the usual uninformed "not our problem".

I've exhaustively checked my own box in Freesat and Multi-Sat modes and have no issues, but in the light of this information, a wise owner will not accept OTA upgrade for now.

That may mean they've done the decent thing and pulled the upgrade until they've figured out why they have adversely affected some boxes.

What Application Version does your Box actually show: 1.00.15 or 1.00.23 ?

If you are at 1.00.15 then I suggest you don't permit an upgrade for now.

If it is somehow at 1.00.23, then check you can still view all the Channels.

In which case you've got the latest update - probably came to you automatically last night.

I quoted 1.00.13 by mistake - sticky fingers: Now edited to 1.00.23.

You don't need the new Loader as it carries a minor fix for DiSEqC use. But if you really want it, it is only available via the Humax website (see earlier Linkies).

Do check all your Channels are still working ............. fault now seems to affect viewing of High Band Vertical Channels on some boxes.

My fingers are crossed for you.

Look at eg CNN.

Both Standard and PVR versions: Some reports of Aspect Ratio shenanigans at lower resolutions.

Nobody has yet received any constructive response from Humax.

Personally, I leave my Foxsat set to 1080 anyway.

Version 1.00.24 now available for OTA Download.

The primary function of this OTA is to support the forthcoming adult services and also to provide performance improvements for interactive services using the broadband connection.

An unspecified number of Foxsats suffered inexplicable Channel loss after being upgraded to 1.00.23, as mentioned earlier in the Thread.

V 1.00.24, released shortly afterwards, was not a fix for that problem, but did address some other outstanding issues.

Meanwhile, Humax have responded to customer complaints and have prepared V 1.00.25, dated 8 Dec 09, which appears to be a successful fix for the Channel loss problem.

Although and others have acquired this Application Software, it is not yet available for public download but should be within 2 weeks, both OTA or via Humax Support Web Pages.
