Hello,
I couldn’t find your source regarding Atmos.
I have this information translated from Tele-Satellite:
France Télévisions is announcing a technological shift for its France 2 UHD channel: starting on January 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., it will abandon static HDR10 in favor of the dynamic formats HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
France Télévisions has confirmed that this change, implemented for the broadcast of the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympic Games (February 6–22, 2026), will apply to terrestrial digital television (DTT), satellite television via Fransat, and compatible telecom operators. OrneTHD was the first operator to announce support for this technical evolution. Dynamic formats adjust brightness and contrast scene by scene, delivering superior contrast, color, and depth. In addition, the event will be broadcast in native UHD.
For Fransat subscribers, compatible UHD set-top boxes will carry the signal without requiring an update. With Orange, Free, or SFR, this will depend on the specific set-top boxes used. Recent TVs certified for HDR10+ or Dolby Vision will benefit fully; otherwise, backward compatibility in HDR10 will apply.
This initiative strengthens France Télévisions’ position in free-to-air UHD innovation, aligning it with standards used by platforms such as Netflix. Check your equipment compatibility to enjoy a more immersive Olympic experience.
