Freesat advice

I am moving to an apartment where we share the same dish (I have to say bye bye to my current setup, dreambox, 1.w :()

Back to the point, I am thinking of buying this box:

The dish at apartments are facing the normal UK Sky, I spoke to my local dealer and he tried to sell me a Digibox for £120 and a viewing card for £20. My question is can I use the above freesat box in Guernsey?, I am a little worried as the freesat website says it covers 98% of the UK!! I asume the freesat box just needs to be connected to a dish facing 28.2e? and the dealer is just trying to sell me Sky!!!

I understand that the freesat box doesn't have a card slot so I won't be able to upgrade the SKY packages. I know I could use my dreambox but I really like the idea of HD and a box that has HDMI connection.

Any advice would be greatly received.

Thanks

The receiver will work in Guernsey with a dish set up on 28e. Shouldn't have an issue with 2D reception either, your fairly close enough to the UK :)

Thanks for the info, which channels are on 2D? we also have a SKY setup here (where I am at the moment), I can check if we are getting 2D.

I could always try the freesat box here before I move, just worried I might waste £160 as I don't know if these boxes can be returned!!!

Cheers

Basically if you can get BBC1 BBC2 ITV , them you get Astra 2D.

I don't know where they get 98% from, I asume the 2% are the ones who either are not allowed a dish, or live in an awkward place with no line of site.
