freesat from sky is decreasing

number of free channels are going down since sentant left now sky3 also left and just read channel 4 HD will become FTA step by step and sky freesat will be done :(
 
Setanta was never FTV! $ly 3 has simply changed EPG number so is still part of FSFS and C4 HD MAY go FTA if there's sufficient capacity aboard the new satellite 1N (which hasn't even been launched yet) and can negotiate its way out of the encryption deal they have with $ly.

Not so much a MAY as IS, in April, according to various sources today (DS, C4, joinfreesat)

Join Freesat seem happy for the info to be freely Shared, so here is what it says:

"Channel 4 and Freesat today announced that Freesat HD viewers will soon be able to enjoy C4HD when the channel launches on the subscription free satellite TV service in April.

C4HD becomes the fourth HD channel on Freesat joining BBC1 HD, BBC HD and ITV1 HD. Freesat currently offers over 170 TV, radio and interactive channels to its 1.5 million customers, alongside BBC iPlayer, with ITV Player imminent (for most).

Freesat Managing Director Emma Scott said;

This is fantastic news for Freesat. C4HD is a high quality channel and we’re sure it’ll prove popular with our discerning viewers.

The addition of a fourth HD channel makes Freesat an even more attractive offer for savvy TV viewers looking for quality TV without monthly bills."
 
Talk about being overtaken by events!

Is this going ahead regardless of whether 1N is available or not? Will there be only one regional variation (probably)?

channel 4hd is fta 24/7 BUT ITV1 is moved to astra 2d only? crap :(

2 sony channels is available both sd quality is simply %$^%$%^ :(
