Hi all I've lost my signal for my free sat due to wind storms the other day . I did the instal a year ago with a cheap signal finder and all been ok till now ! Tried to re position dish with cheapo finder but only picking up German channels . So bought a first strike meter but still only finding German satellite ! I've set my latitude longitude and set it to sat 28.2E . Can anyone tell me what the correct transponder frequency ,symbol rate , local oscillator frequency I should set meter to so I can be more accurate in a manual search . I'm using a quad LNB 13 v . Also not been able to use the post code search on the humax foxsat HDR only manual search
 
Your dish is pointing to Astra 1 at 19.2E ................

Just shove it slightly further East and you'll find either Astra 3 at 23.5E (in which case shove it a tiny bit more!) or be back on target.

The Foxsat Postcode Search can only work when you're on the right Satellite as the Freesat EPG and other control data comes from Eutelsat 28A @ 28.5E.
 
You wont be able to use the postcode function until you are aligned back onto 28E and have access to the Freesat home transponder again.
 
I have followed that advise earlier but still seam to be picking up German . Just thought if I could refine the metre search if would pinpoint 28.2 sat not the other . Does the LO freq need to be input and if this info is not on the LNB where can this info be sought many thanks
 
Forget the meter settings - just push the dish a bit further East until you get a signal.

Check if it's 23.5E (shove a bit more ) or 28.2/28.5E.

Done.

Hope this helps you pin point a signal.

You could also connect your receiver to the other terminal on your meter so that when you get a signal on the meter you will also get visual confirmation on the receiver, but make sure that the receiver is on BBC 1 at 10773 also.
 
Hi thanks for help all done and dusted . I reset the settings on the meter F=10714 SR=22000 LO=09750 LNB=18V not the 13V i had it set on and 22KHz set to off which i had set on . Moved dish a smidge to left and bingo . Thanks again nice to no there's alway help round the corner so to speak
 
Excellent - its always good to hear that folks have got their problems licked. :)

Mark the mount / pole up with indelible ink, a splash of paint etc so if it moves again you can reset quickly.
