Freezing problem

Hi, i'm looking for some help with an ongoing problem on my Dreambox.

Basically the picture keeps freezing on my subscription channels (no problems on free to air channels). I am not card sharing, I have my own legitimate subscription and sky card, which is why this is so frustrating and annoying. Ironically enough when I gave my card to my mate who has a DM600, he tested it on his own box and shared it with my to my box. Neither of us had any problems with freezing.

My question is, what is causing this? Is it dish misalignment? Is it the LNB? Is it something to do with how the card is read in my box - would it be advisable to edit the cccam config file to read the card faster? Would my wireless home internet have anything to do with it? Would using the internet while watching tv have anything to do with it?

My set up is:
DM 7025+
Sky Installed Dish
CAM: NewCs_1.65/CCcam_2.0.11
Internet: Connected to DM by ethernet cable. Modem is wireless

This is driving me nuts so any help or advice would be much appreciated! :-DOH!

If its a Dark Blue (Yellow House) NDS2 card then you don't need NewCS, just use CCcam. the default settings seem to work ok with it :cool:

You can overclock the card but this can cause it to get quite hot very quickly sometimes causing damage to the card itself :eek:

If your not sharing the card try a different emulator like NewCS/MGcamd, Mbox or the old favorite gBox :D

If the problem was dish alignment or a dodgy lnb it would do it on all channels not just the encrypted ones.

If its a new NDS3 White card its something to to with EMM flooding. There is a setting in NewCS to disable one set of EMM updates, however i've no idea which setting it is as i haven't really dabbled with NewCS much.

Cheers Nano :) It's the blue card with the yellow house. I have the problem narrowed down to either a problem with the Cam setup (configs) or a faulty card reader. I've changed my cam now and will play around with a few others if need be. Failing that I'll just send the box back as it's only a few months old...
 
Right mate lets keep this simple.
Install CCcam version 2.0.11 or 2.1.0 or 2.1.1
Select the cam by itself , do not use NewCS.

When its running, insert you card and zap to a pay channel. Job done. The default config will run your card just fine if its just for you to watch locally.

If you want any more detail on CCcam just shout.

I used CCcam on it's own before but still had this problem. Currently using NewCS + CCcam 2.0.11 and all working well so far, so I'm loathe to change it :o If it plays up again, which I'm sure it will, I'll give CCcam a go again, and no doubt I'll be back here again :eek:
