MBC is now available on Badr-7 @ 26 east no signal here in the East of England
11270 V DVB-S/MPEG-2 27500 5/6

MBC channels may be lost to UK viewers if Badr-7 replaces Badr-4 11919 H 27500

The only other versions of MBC are on 7 west & 7.2 west
11559 V DVB-S/MPEG-2 27500 5/6 nothing here on this beam Eutelsat 7 West A E7WA
NWA

or this beam on Nilesat 201 @ 7 west  not so much as a flicker
11938 V DVB-S/MPEG-2 27500 3/4

This one works ok but it is encrypted @ 7.2 west
12188 H
DVB-S2/QPSK
MPEG-4 27500 5/6

Is this the end of fta MBC in Europe ? it certainly looks that way.

When I have my motorised system back on line ( after Holby City ! ) I´ll post results from my location for the above frequencies

Is it being resuscitated?

Normal service has now been restored ( without the use of the crash cart or ICU )

26 E 11270 V 0.0000000dB
7W
11559 V 11.0 dB
11938 V 12.3 dB
12188 H 12.1 dB ( encrypted )

Just checked 11559V @ 7W and I am getting a lock and a picture... but it's somewhat temperamental with splutters and freezes (on F15). No lock on Solo2 (tuner in this sucks - much better on Uno).

So not completely lost for me and with a few tweaks, I may be able to get a more stable picture.

Just checked again from here
11559 V is up 0.3 dB to 11.3 dB
11938 V is up 1 dB to 13.3 dB
so stronger here in the morning

Signal on 7W has gone up to 6.2dB - nice and stable now.
What do you get from the TP on the same frequency on 5W?

I can see 7W on the spec an but it is about 16dB below the TP on 5W. From the shape of the spectrum I may be still seeing some signal from 5W at 7W. Apart from the lower level from 7W, it may need narrower beam width to separate it from 5W on smaller dishes.

You mean when on 7W or 5W? When on 7W it's flickering up to around 1.5dB. Over 16dB when on 5W itself.

@nelson_b - how's MBC on 7w for you? I know you had NW Africa beam locked there.

Hi - Nothing here on 11559 V using my 1.8 dish ....
been out all day ... will try with the other dish a little later this evening ....

You've answered, thanks. I wondered how strong that TP on 5W was, with you, relative to the TP on the same frequency on 7W. I don't get anything from 7W 11559V.

11559 V 7 west does not lock on 2.4 c.m. here --- signal showing between 3.0 and 4.0 d.b.

Very similar..flickering some signs of signal but nothing until I actually move the dish to 7w. Helps having 1 degree beamwidth on the 1.8m...

Yes, the dish must be properly focused on 7West.
The one or the other receiver makes a lot of difference.
With Edison OS Mini gives blocks and stripes with 30% signal.
With the Sab Titan Micro gives blocking with 50% signal.
With the Redline TS40Plus clear picture by 60% -70 signal.

My report from Thessaloniki..
11270V on 26E comes very strong, same levels as 11919H at about 14db on my 1.30. With that it's easy to assume that it would have no problem on 85cm as well.

On 7W I only receive the mux on 11938 at 10.2db. No sign of 11559V or any other 7WA transponder in my area except 10719V for a few hours during the night!

New MBC transponder lit up on Badr-5, 12284V 27500 on West Africa beam.

Coming in well on the 1.8m CM on a very murky, damp morning with tinsel dangling over the LNB...
