FTP folder error

Hi again all,
I've recently started having problems FTPing Satan files to my 500, and I receive this message:

An error occured copying a file to the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.
Details:
200 Binary it is, then.
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,0,24,49,45)
553 Could not create file.

I've recently upgraded to Gemini 4.2, I'm pointing at 19E for D+, and I use Windows to FTP.
I have DreamBoxEdit on my PC, but I do not use it too often, and this message looks like the language used in this program.
I do try and FTP each file seperately, to try and get a picture which works someimes, but this message is starting to get annoying.
Also, after FTPing the files singly, and then rebooting, the Dreambox will display: Fatal Error, and I have to pull the plug to re-start it.
Can anyone offer any advice, or should I just re-flash and start again? I'm also considering unintalling DreamBoxEdit in case it's somehow messing things up.

You're FTPing the files to /var/keys and /var/scce/ (as appropriate)?

You're using the correct username and password e.g. root and dreambox?
 
is /var too full?

How much space is free?
 
Ok, I've just re-flashed Gemini 4.2, scanned 19E, added MgCamd 1.27 (and config), FTPed Satan files, and no problem, all is good again.
I'm still not sure why that error came up, but it's all working again and I can look forward to the footie tonight.

It normally happens when you run out of space; var needs to be no more than 80% full.

Good news that you got it sorted :)
 
Sorry mhku our posts overlapped. My var couldn't have been too full as I only had MgCamd and CCcam installed. I'm sure it wasn't for that reason but at least it's ok now.
It is just because the error message looked familiar to language similar to that used in DreamBoxEdit which made me wonder.

hi johnlk2 can you tell me what is the advantage of having both CCcam and mgcamd installed??? I currently have CCcam installed with a sky freesat card have access to 28e 19e 13e. I heard you mention the word footie and would love to get instructions as to how i might be able to access some.

You can get football on 19e, Premier Sport Portal. Use the green button o chose the sport package you want to view. You can get the english audio as well using the audio button.
 
Also maybe some on 13 east, to do this you need to use the channel keys, how to do this will probably be explain in keys part of this forum
 
Hi patoinsf, the CCcam is for when I am pointing at 28E with my $ly Freeview card, and the MgCamd (in conjunction with some keys) is for 19E, for the Premier Sport Portal as described above by john_graydon.

I got the sports portal up and running My 12 year old son says its legend (Apparently that means great) my 14 year old daughter wants to kill you because that’s the end of her being able to watch music channels all the time. Again thanks for the help Guys
 
Well done patoinsf, good to hear you've got it working. Check out the film channels too (Prem 1 to 4, and the Prem film portal all with English audio option), but be aware it also unlocks a mature content portal too (called Erotic AB 18 or similar).

Thanks for the heads up on the mature content channel it will be removed today
 
By the way, no need to remove the channels, simply set the parental lock with a password, and the kids cannot open them. If you want to be even more secure, you can tick the box so the locked channels are not visible, only once you remove the parental lock.

While you are at it lock also the Beate Uhse channel, also mature content.
