Hi, on the subject of fullX, I am using a nokia 9600 box with dvb2000 installed, I also have a zetacam which, I understand, should unlock these programms. So far I have failed to get the thing running. Please let me know if you know what is going on. I have tried to access the cam setup (8,3,4) and do get in but any further selection eludes me. My local dealer says it is the box and is out to sell me new box, good advice? Any help welcome, cheers - dave

The 9600 is great with old style cams like conax & irdeto freecam but does not work so well on newer multicams.

You could try the latest DVB2000 beta8_np51 version. It says it works on Zeta cam but not seen anyone confirming this.

Is the tuner in the 9600 so sensitive as they say,or do feedhunters use it because of the scanning options?

No complaints about the signal, scans and delivers in a very efficient manner but the front end is messy. not much cam support that I can see, but then I only bought it rececently in order to learn a little more, so i am afraid my oppinion will not mount to much.

Tuner sensitivity:

I can't judge this as I don't have loads of other receivers to compare. It doesn't have full blind search, but the tuner software is user friendly.

Transbox software:

I've never got Transbox to work, so I normally use DVBedit.

Hello again, I have just installed beta8 but I have not been able to find any reference to _np51, is there more than one version of beta8? If not, I know why compatibility has not been confirmed, Zeta does not run under dvb2000.

Thanks for the tbox tip, I will stay with dvbedit.

Next question, is it worth converting to Joker? Will that run or should I confine my activities to older cam types?

You need the np patched versions of the beta8 firmware, the latest is DVB2000beta8_np52. You will have to try to find this yourself as all my sources are down today.

I can't comment on Zeta vs Joker - you must test this yourself.

What type of Encryption is FREE X using? There is a card in the market for US $ 79 which is supposed to work for a year (Free X 1 & 2 and X Dream). Is this the 'pirated card'? Is is advisable to buy this one or the Encryption is expected to change?

Thanks BB, will keep looking.

I have seen various upgrade cards offered, I do not know of they are pirate, the ones I have seen seem official, the cam I have is 'neotion' but the upgrade cards seem to be available in various versions, have a look at freex website, don't expect any response from them but there is info there.

I enquired about upgrade card myself from another supplier, they asked me what system I wanted the card for, when i told them I had blue zeta they told me there was no upgrade necessary for neotion. Afraid I can not be more helpful.

Thanks for the info BB, found np51 and have managed to get cam working after a fashion, needs a little prompting but it clears well enough, thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have a zeta/neotion or any of the new style cams myself but glad you are getting somewhere.

The Nokia 9600 is getting very interesting now with conax cam / Freecam / Aston103 cam as new files are being released all the time.

Pity it can only take one CI cam at a time otherwise it would be the undisputed No.1 satellite receiver at present.
