was thinking to install new original image in the flash memory using the fwp 6 RC1...as my current image doesnot have eutelsat....for some reason !
so wondering would this fwp work for db7020
 
The answer is no. FW6 RC1 can only install images to HD, USB or CF with the 7020. Musicbob said somewhere that the flash layout of 7020 made it too difficult.

It's a pity because the smartcopy feature of FW is great. It takes all the current settings into the new image. So if you have an image working perfectly with settings and channels you can install another image and not have to edit any configuration.

I used dreamup to change my flash image. There must be a way to take the files for configuration, satellites and channels into the flash image manually. Anyone know which files in /etc ?

the problem i couldnot get the DreamUp software to work.
i did every thing with connection......but could not establish connection with pc .....ya i used usb serial adaptor ! may be that is the reason....doubt it any way......that is why looking for other way to install new flash image...
used lan but couldnot get the address when pressed the up key in the front panel...

any tips appreciated

I just used it yesterday to do exactly what Fransuoa wants to do.....
I installed the latest image dm7020-20050912093221 without a hitch.

For DreamUp you need a null modem cable (RS232 and not USB). It works fine with the right cable.
