Good morning,
I have a V9-916 multiswitch which I am planning on installing in my house with coax to every room with two sat feeds. My question is, what are the default positions of the gain controls when installing for first time. I bought this item on eBay so the previous owner had it set for his setup.

If in doubt and if no-one else replies, set them all half way! Sometimes you'll find that even at default a few of the outputs have a higher gain for a longer cable run anyway. These will usually have the gain printed next to the outputs though.
 
This is where a good satellite meter would come in handy, you could measure the input signal to the switch then set the gain controls to equal that input, you can then adjust the outputs for each run later with the same meter.
