Amongst other jobs ive been doing in the garden, today i finished fitting pea netting to one side of the garden fence, i planted lots of sweet pea seeds (the flower type) over 2 week ago and now have a few popping through, hopefully later on in the year this will be a wall of flowers:).

Try everlasting (perennial) sweet peas we have some that have appeared annually in the same place (and spread from self-seeding) for over 50 years now. I'm not a gardener so cannot say whether they are still the original plants or not.

Many thanks, amongst the 300+ seeds I have sown, some are the everlasting type, the only problem I have I don't know which ones :-doh, i just opened all the packets mixed them up and planted them,

Gardening is all new to me, this will be my first year, but i am really enjoying it, ive spent lots of time and effort into having a nice flower garden, i am hoping in the next few months this time and effort will reward me, even if only a little, its something to build on for next year :).

Make sure those newly planted palm trees don't block the views for satellites :)

Thank you J, yes pleased with how things are looking, I am working round to the 1.8 install pal, I might get it on the test bed in the coming weeks :)

Make sure those newly planted palm trees don't block the views for satellites :)

Thanks Alex, I did put a little thought into there position, one will be inline with 1W and the other around 30W, they both come in quite high and the palms take 20/50 yrs to reach maturity and can be pruned :), plus the dish will be about 10ft up to the bottom of the dish so I should have no problems in the near future :)

I wanted to utlise two-germ leaf weed killer, but the packet said "do not use within first season of seeding lawn".
So I'm looking at the dandelions and (worse) thistles multiply...

I read not to put any weed killer on for the fist year, and did :-doh:-lol, it burnt patches all over :( don't do it ;), I have now reseeded most bits and it looking back in shape :), I now manually pull the weeds out and over seed the area to drive the weeds away, it takes time but worth it, very pleased with how things are looking, I now have a good platform to work off for next year and the years ahead :).

I have no idea where you find the time Martin

Some days its 10 PM by the time I sit down properly, I never thought for 1 minute I would enjoy doing gardening, but now I don't know when to stop love it and find it relaxing,

Theirs lots more things in place that I wont see the benefit from for a few years, ive planted various types of clematis ivy and passion flowers all round the perimeter of the rear garden, it should look great in a year or two :).

He saves time by not putting up his 1.8m dish...

^^:-lolOnce my house is finished most projects will be dish related Alex, :), happy days then pal :).

Thanks J:), like ive said before I am still enjoying the company of my 1.2, at the moment in the uk not many peeps are reporting there finds with 1.8s, it will be great once Alex has his installed and we can work together with our findings, I know we are a few miles apart, but he will be my closest regular poster with the same size dish with a passion for the weak signals :).

Lawn edging - just buy a couple of hundred 43cm zone 1 dish faces and set them vertically along the lawn edge :D
