Hi everyone!

I got my dm800 recently and flashed it with Gemini 4.0 image using my browser and lan connection. However, the receiver is very slow now and "please wait" message never goes away from the background. I tried to reflash with the original firmware but the receiver refuse to go into the waiting mode. If I tried to do so by following the instructions in the manual the receiver will not turn on until I unplug/plug the power cable.

Please help me solve the problem. thanks

Perhaps you should have flashed it with a null modem cable and without LAN.
This is how I flash my Dreambox 7000S.

Is your DM connected to a router ? Then, make sure that the DHCP option is enabled when you flash via browser.
The please wait messagge is displayed when the DM is not assigned with an IP address.

1. Pull power from box
2. Ensure connection to router with DHCP
3. Hold down button on front panel
4. Plug in power, keep button pressed.
5. OLED will display STOP, then it should show an IP Address after about 8 seconds.
6. Now you can flash from browser. If no IP address then check router to see if its connected.
7. If connected but still no IP address, the perhaps you need DreamUp with null modem lead.

Have you done what the 3 replies told you to do .... DHCP enabled on dreambox

Your box can still be on your network when it is not but for flashing enable DHCP

Great! It worked. I realized that assigning a static IP was the problem. However, why is the gemini image so slow?

Thanks alot.

That may depend from the skin objects, or even from the programming. try another image instead.

I agree, I have been using the Nabilosat BH 0.7 and it is very stable and also has many good plugins available from the Green and Yellow buttons. Generally i always considered myself a Gemini man as that was the image that I used on my DM500S but now that i have my DM800 and Nabilosat it just rocks!
