My Satellite Setup
1.2 meter dish
technomate box

I can move the dish manually if I
want to change sat
But since the change over to digi
I find it difficult to find satellites
(must be the digi delay )
My Location
N England
Hi,
I have a 1.25 dish which is fixed on some sat or other
not sure which.
I get a ton of German channels, some french some spanish
but I would say the main channels are German

German TV is massive, I would guess that it is even bigger than
UK TV in output and production.... probably spends more money too !

I thought it would be great to have a thread where people can
post times and channels of any interesting programme on German
satellite.... maybe pop shows that come on regularly
or drama... football, anything.
Theres tons of stuff up there, its just knowing where and when its on !

OK there are tv guides on line, but, I dont read German
and its pretty tedious reading schedules
theres a good one here

The "some Satellite or another" is Astra 1 at 19.2E (and your 1.2m dish is overkill! A 60cm is perfectly adequate)

As for useful titbits, we already have people posting about such goodies as "Dinner For One" at New Year, about 3Sat and its New Year and May Day Rock-a-thons and one off stuff is posted in relevant Sports areas or Free To Air Gems type Threads.

Interesting idea pulling it all together with regard to one Satellite position/Language, but perhaps it's covered well enough already?

What do others think?

Same procedure as last year??

Same procedure as every year

To anyone that's wondering, that's an "in-joke" for fans of "Dinner For One", broadcast every year on New Year's Eve on the German TV networks.

Well I think if the o/p has nothing better to do with his time other than to post german TV times listings on a predominantly English language website then perhaps he should be allowed to do it......I do however suspect it would be a very short term project.

The whole crux of the enjoyment of satellite TV for me for the last 23 years has been the unpredictability and the enjoyment of finding something you liked and had no idea was being broadcast.

you can get old pop shows on zdf theatre canal
go here

one show is called Disco with an annoying presenter
the other show is Hitparade... with another annoying presenter....

on the disco one you might hit on some interest acts of yesteryear... like Abba
even George Harrison made a solo performance on one show.
