I've been thinking about buying a gibertini 1.25 dish and matching polar mount.
Just some questions.

I've a 60mm pole that's about 1.5m high in the ground in my back garden, that has just a fixed dish on it.
I was going to put it on it, but since the last motor was on it tree's have shot up in the Western position around 20-30w, so might not be the best spot.
Next option is the side of the house that's South facing, I wouldnt have to put it too high, as the next house is enough away and has a hip roof.
Would 12 inch t&k brackets be enough 1m apart with a 50mm pole slightly higher above the k.
Im concerned about the weight going up the ladder.
Also does the gibertini polar mount have latitude markings, and what's the best lnb that anyone has found best, either the matched feed horn or black ultra.

Gibertini 1.2 dish is light. The bracket behind is made out of solid concrete and weighs a tonne. Also the Gibby PM is quite long, which makes the dish hang quite far in front of the pole it sits on.

50mm will probably be OK, as long as it sits just above the top bracket clamp. Any higher and it'll swing like a tree.

I've seen pictures with the dish on the polar mount and it does seem out far, add 12 inch T&k brackets and it's out even further from the wall.

Any T&k brackets I've seen only take a 50mm diameter pole.

You can extend the slots with a drill and file (or Dremel type tool).

The Gibertini 1.25 mount will not tighten up on a 2" pole unless you take a grinder to the mount

Ah, I thought you were talking about the height above the top bracket

THere are T/K brackets that take a 3 and 4" u-bolt out there, but they are more substantial.

Thanks, I'll take a look.
Do you know what the minimum diameter pole that can be used with the larger gibertini polar mount.
I can't find an answer anywhere.

Mine works happily on USALS Technomate-2600 MK3 motor which can take up 20KG. Gibertini OP 125L weighs in at 15.1KG. Been working a treat since March. :)

I must admit I wouldn't want to work with the Gibby up a ladder. My risk assessment decided I go for a ground mount! I'd get something lighter for ladder work.

Nice job.
I have a 60mm pole in my garden, but trees out over my wall in a green area have shot up over the last couple of years, so will effect western satellites.
I think I'll go with the 1m gibertini on the side of the house.
As you say the 1.25 wouldn't be easy up a ladder.
