Good mid-range Quad LNB?

Hi All,

I'm buying a second (and maybe 3rd) TV, so I'd like to expand on my current SAT set-up of 2x dishes and 3x single LNB's (28.2 FreeSat, 13 Hotbird, 19.2 Astra).

I'm looking to replace my 3x single LNB's with Quad LNB's. I plan to have separate Diseqc switches for each TV rather than a multi-switch, as I'll never have more than 4 TV's anyway. I will have one long cable run, maybe around 30-50m, but I'll use a coax-cable with a pure copper conductor, so I think that should be Ok.

At the moment, I'm using Grundig LNB's (earlier Sharp, with same performance) on the links with acceptable receive levels, and a Invacom LNB on the link that has some weak transponders to boost them a bit.

I am looking at some mid-range LNB's to replace all of them, the following cost about the same here in Switzerand (about 25 CHF or 20 EUR). Would anyone recommend one over the other? I hear Sharp is a good bang-for-the-buck, and had a good experience with the single LNB. I hear Inverto is good with weak signals, but how's this "Silver" one? I don't know much about Telestar, but I'm always open to trying out something different, especially German brands.

Any feedback, comments, or recommendations of other mid-priced Quad-LNB's (20-30 EUR) is welcomed :)

Out of those 3 mentioned i would go with the Inverto Silver but if your purse strings stretch i would upgrade that to the Inverto Black Ultra
 
I bought the Inverto and Telestar listed in my original post. The difference in reception is not too big, however, the Inverto is VERY big physically compared to the Telestar. Also usually people say the noise figure is just "marketing", however, leaving the dish in place and sawpping LNBs, the Inverto (0.3dB) has 93% signal strength and 83% quality, while the Telestar (0.1dB) has 90% signal and 85% quality, so it looks like the Inverto is injecting more noise into the signal.
 
That rather depends on exactly which frequency or narrow range of frequencies you're quoting S/Q figures for:

That's the point >>> The width of Ku band is such that the noise figure v. frequency plot will never be flat and the quoted figure represents the best effort over a small part of the band. That's why, without access to better and more detailed data representing overall performance right across Ku Band, such headline figures can only be treated as Marketing fluff.

I understand that, however there must be some median testing done or else why would even the same manufacturer sell LNB's with 0.1dB, 0.3dB and 0.5dB noise figure values?
 
I should imagine that that is governed by factors such as continuous development, stock levels etc.

No doubt NF tends to get better, in general, with newer variants from the same manufacturer, but without a comprehensive data sheet and a degree of correlation for the specific application by the user, it is still an "apples and pears" comparison when set against the offerings of a different manufacturer.
