Agree with 'Channel Hopper'................

'After a week of trying the latest firmware I can say that the Android Combo does everything I would wish in a £50 receiver and slightly more, regardless of the promise of 4:2:2 delivered on a plate.
........................... drives the dish as I would like, blind scan is accurate and fast....................and it now records and plays video and audio back from the USB stick, I haven't tried the SD card slot so far.
..................................Even the clock appears to be behaving itself.'

*****************************************************************************************************************

Tested the SD card and all seems ok with required input and its recording thereafter. :Y

Your recommendation might boost my prospects of a sale for the GT Combo I got here for a bullseye excluding delivery, anyone ?
You’ll have to join the selling queue or talk it up a bit more.

I prefer not to talk it up and give potential buyers a false impression that they are buying a top notch receiver.
If anyone is daft enough to stuff a bullseye into my paw they know that in my personal opinion the box is a bug ridden door stop.

No tears....

Despite what some people say about this receiver ,
I am always surprised by the very good sensitivity of this receiver.
on 30,5 Est my TBS 6983 card reports no signal (despite 8,2 dB )
on BlueNile2 11739 V 2000 8PSK
GTMedia combo can find the frequency (blindscan) and the program.
It is not smooth, but it is the only device that finds this channel.

Try installing the GT Share Android app on your Combo and see what playback results you get through that.

Can you tell me what this "GTshare Android app" is for?
If it's to receive programs on my mobile phone, I'm not interested.

It’s an Android app. You have an Android box, the Combo. Install it from the Play Store on the Combo. You then have a server/client on the one box. If you don’t like it just uninstall it. Nothing bad will happen to you I swear. It’s another for playback of 4.2.2 streams.

im very happy with it - especially the Poop it pours without any effort - and the sensitive tuner, plus youtube and other apps which can be sideloaded - cannot knock it at all - makes a nice change from E2 and closed source

someone pls give @moonbase 50 quid

The pay TV hackers weapon of choice. It is what it is. I reckon you won’t find any true DXer using that box on a regular basis. Pure novelty 4.2.2 receiver pouring Russian and Nigerian Poop. Bistovski possibly. Why anyone wanting all that illegal stuff even bother with Sat TV is beyond me. It’s all available with a decent broadband connection and a well loaded m3u playlist. Still it’s gained some interest here so that can’t be a bad thing.

Mod. Note

It would be a great shame if we were obliged to close this generally interesting and worthwhile Thread due to thinly-veiled and, indeed, overt references to matters about which this Forum expressly forbids discussion. Think on.

I use mine much like I did the Azbox all those years ago, Crazyscan + EBSPro are the front line tools of my DXing and then this box can be used once a feed is found and I'm curious what it is.

Just curious, how does this box fairs when blindscanning s2x feeds/channels, In particular, the recent Champions league UHD feeds that have been active in recent weeks?
Also, does the DVB-T tuner work ok on this box. Been looking for another non E2 box with Freeview cababilities, and this could prove useful with it's 'auto' features saving some time.

ps. I'm aware it won't be able to decode UHD 4:2:2 feeds, just need it to be able to find them.

Point me in the direction of a frequency and I'll have a look in ten minutes.

Ah.... there's really only the channels on 33e that are permanently broadcast in S2x, the fS2x feeds are few and far between. It was mainly aimed at someone who may have found them at the time. Would be a clue if it can blindscan them on 33e though.
The frequency is 12597v, cheers.

On auto scan I find a Swiss bouquet coming in clear at that frequency, three channels (SR10057) TMC/TFX and TF1 (which has an English audio option). Also a scrambled Polish group at 12722MHz

On blind scan it finds not a lot on the highs ( 12645H Bulgarian bouquet ) , there may be no feeds this time of night.

Cheers CH, so that means that S2x blindscan works ok, so maybe worth a punt after all.

with the blindscan the DVB-S2X frequency is found without any problem
the programmes are also clearly visible.

Is there an equivalent of the WebIf on an E2 receiver for an android receiver such as the GTMedia Combo?
For example, is there an android app that can be loaded onto a GTMedia Combo that allows it to be fully controlled by a PC in a similar manner to what the WebIf does for an E2 receiver?

The WebIf for E2 on a PC accesses the E2 receiver using a web browser via the LAN IP of the E2 receiver.
As the GTMedia Combo has its own LAN IP, an app on the GTMedia Combo could host connectivity and allow control from a PC, if such an app exists?
