i would never use the combo as primary receiver - i leave that to the octagon sf8008, edision 4k+, and the Zgemma H2S - combo is ok for experimenting, but thats about it

As i have ordered the GT combo and i am new to that box, which firmware works ok ?
Is it good idea to stick to the one that the box will arrive here? or ...
By the way and for my octagon sf 8008 is my main box, gt media v8x and gt combo will be used for feeds.

As each version of firmware comes out I suggest you save the USB update version so you can go back if you wish. I had a problem with 1.23 to do with the displayed picture when switching between HD and SD. So I went back to 1.22 for a while but the latest, 1.26, has sorted that problem out. I use my GT Combo as a sensitive satellite receiver rather than a DVB-T receiver.

It came as a complete surprise this morning while checking C band at 34.5W! Yes I'm on 1.26 sw//

Yes 1.27 works fine for me. I warn you this box doesn't always behave as one would expect but I've learnt to live with its defects. Its tuner is the most sensitive I have and its auto features great too. We were hoping for a version that scanned between limits but that never happened.

Quick test 1.27..........as 'CH' says, 'all channels now watchable.'............4:2:2 clears ok with the auto 'Bisto' working as well, test card at the mo so will see 4:2:2 action tonight!

Noticeable for me is the fact that for the first time I did not need to change the onboard video player to be able to take a screenshot of the complete screen (video+info screen together)-
Seems good......more tests when time allows. :cool:
