GTMedia GTCombo 4:2:2 receiver

presume AL FORAT has same issue?

Yes it looked the same to me - didn't spend too much time with it but i noticed, i think, that the text in the 'Signal' / 'Quality' / 'Progress' info bars had been enlarged for better reading.

well, im glad they've sorted the black screen issue - that made me stop using it

Just remind me what you thought caused that issue because i never experienced that here - might just be a feature that iv'e never tried.

For those that want to know what makes them tick.

On a whim, decided to purchase one. On its way from the land of the Dragon.

Hope it doesn't eventually end up in my loft as a one-trick pony (4:2:2)

The twin tuner is useful, as is 4k. Not many other receivers have the same specifications.

Its a decent receiver albeit still a bit buggy...Don't delete all a satellites tranponders as this sometimes causes the receiver to delete all your saved channels, it then proceeds to lose the satellites which had the channels on as well, this then necessitates a factory reset to recover them. This bug still exists in the latest firmware...

I found traversing between DVB-S and T to be a right pain, as was trying to get the broadband password accepted (had to use the mouse function in the end) but overall it is a very good screen sequence from startup (very colourful and better than E2.....) for a first attempt , plus the remote buttons can be seen in lower light than the Octagon/Zgemma ones.

Nice fta 4:2:2 feed for you to try: Astra3 23.5E 12719V 9600 SKI JUMPING.

Where I am is currently stuck on 13E and a bit westward (with difficulty)

Another potential issue is with the Bluetooth remote. I lost signal twice to the receiver and so far there is no way to recover the link. The remote turns the machine off and I can get the mouse arrow to appear onscreen, but that is all.

I'll change the batteries (though they were new yesterday - none in the box btw.) but I doubt it improves anything.

Before retiring tonight I should say the picture quality on both terrestrial and satellite is outstanding on a 1080 screen, but I wish GTMedia had put a master reset switch somewhere on the unit.

I might open again tomorrow to check for a set of contacts inside.

Had a quick look at the PCB but I can't see a reset contact anywhere.

The front panel simply switches between green light and clock (correct time) and red light. There is nothing on screen and the box only recognises the standby button since the bluetooth went off.

If it is of help the last thing I watched before it all went off was a youtube video. Current software is 1.12 which went in just after I started testing.

Without a reset button I'm a bit stuffed.

Bare with me, not trying to tell you how to suck eggs - the latest FW is 1.13 which you are probably aware of - - are you able via handset or usb mouse plugged in to navigate from your image #759 to click on the 'Settings ' icon top of screen , if so click settings > Device Preferences > bottom of list > Reset.
If successful and it re-boots, pair the remote again as instructed, if successful and connected to the net it should after a few seconds show an 'Update Available' on screen. Repeat pairing routine etc

The imagery was taken before the receiver went into lockdown so I have no output from the HDMI cable and even the IR part of the remote fails to move the display off the clock when receiver is out of standby.

I am wondering if I can download the new firmware onto a USB stick/SD card and force the receiver to look at the external drive first, but without a front panel button I doubt it.
