GTMedia GTCombo 4:2:2 receiver

Possibly not but the majority of feeds of any great interest are found on 10 E and are in HD or greater resolution. What player on the Combo are you using to view 4.2.2 feeds.

Yes , at 10° East Al Forat
10993 V 3999 HEVC HD constantly in 4.2.2
the receiver has a big problem, it tries and tries to get it, but it doesn't work.

but it should be noted that A Forat doesn't really broadcast to the normal standard

Indeed that was the main reason users here purchased the unit so they could view 4.2.2 feeds. I was trying to establish if the video output was smooth using the video player on the Combo. Many have mentioned that it was quite choppy. You do realise that there are two different players built into the Combo. Which one are you using.

yes, if you switch player, the video is more viewable but choppy a schmuck still (hd 4.2.2) - but u can hear the audio and at least see what the feed is (have internet on!)

I don't understand what you are talking about.
two players ???
I use the combo normally,
I don't see where there is a choice between two players.

green or red button, press ok or info, and u will see

Thank you very much, I didn't know there were two players.
The second one is much better.
The image is not totally fluid but it's OK

Tuner sensitivity...........GTMedia using GT combo and V8 UHD.

Today 13.00/14.00hrs using 1.8m PF on 5.0ºW with two transponders:- 11458 H 543 and 11465 H 667

Only my results but the V8 UHD tuner shows a better result than that of the GT combo.

11458 H 543 - GT combo nothing
11453 H 543 - V8 UHD 83/84% quality

1.webp2.webp3.webp4.webp

11465 H 667 - GT combo 69% quality
11453 H 667 - V8 UHD 75% quality ( no pic sorry)

Yes, test a bit rushed but will try another satellite when time allows.

All be safe.

I'm not sure about anything, but it's possible that the GT Combo can't read below sr 600.

If this is the case, it is not a question of sensitivity but rather of capacity.

Blindscan on 66°East
he finds a transponder with SR 1000 ( 999)
11458 H but this is data.
On the other hand he does not find 12548 H SR 1000 which is a program.

Maybe a question of luck with these small sr

As I mentioned previously the V8 UHD is a maturer receiver and many of the original issues were ironed out. The Combo is still in its infancy so a lot of work to be done yet.

As you said a quick comparison. I imagine the tuner hardware is similar in both units so maybe a more in-depth test might show very similar results.

@lovelyperson
looking at your screenshots i see you made a mistake with the frequency (radio nostalgie) for the GT combo 4K
you have the right frequency for the V8UHD (12543) and a wrong one for the GT combo4K (12548).
the GT combo4k will never find the frequency.
so the comparison is not ideal

Yes, I tried a range either side of 12543 ie: 12538 to 12549 none of which showed an improvement.

This afternoon I had time to look at 26ºE and again the V8 UHD seemed more sensitive.........hopefully will post results tomorrow.

Thanks for the interest in the thread and the GT combo. :Y

All take care.

Small attempt on 62 East C band
so much with me is not possible .
Both transponders with radios
3869 L 1086 and
3872 L 2150 are read
3878 L 5573 with only 5,8 dB i.e. missing 3,6 dB
not read from GTcombo but seen
Of course, it doesn't help much, but it's something.

on the 60° East in Cband
thanks to the good weather I can receive 3767 R 2315 Swazi TV
the GTcombo finds it through the blindscan and the picture is perfect.
The SF 4008 (octagon) can read it, but the picture is not perfect.

blindscan in KA band (with bad LOF, for the moment no possibility to make a manual LOF)
it finds a frequency with an sr of 1053, it's very correct

.. Put another reminder post into to GTMedia Team last night stephan (16th Feb) to add onto both of our previous requests for more Ka band LO user options and was nice to see a positive answer again and hopefully see it implemented in the not too distant future.
