After a couple of hours testing the only issue I can find is that after a retune the terrestrial list is still not in the usual FreeView format.

But it really is minor.

So - ive been doing some experimenting streaming the channels from the combo over my LAN.

What i didnt realise until recently was that you can export the channels that the combo pulls in, out to an .m3u file. This brings some nice opportunties.

Especially for 4.2.2 feeds.

After much headache faff and time, i've managed to get a working solution to output 4.2.2 feeds in a nice clear way.

Its a bit faffy, i wont go into my process in too much detail - but in essence it is this:

Export the .m3u file.
Import it into an Enigma2 box as a channel bouquet - i used E_Channelizer (PAID app) for this.
Once done, you can view and control combo's channels i.e selecting them via the bouquet but with the stability of your E2 box (inc BISTO channels)
It is basically streaming them locally on your LAN from Combo to E2 box.

NOTE: The .m3u contains link such as:
#EXTINF:-1 group-title="7.0E Ku-band Eutelsat 7B/7C",NHL Service-1

Yes, you can copy and paste and play in VLC no problem.

---

4.2.2 channels brings along a different problem, neither my Octagon 8008 or my Edision MIO 4K could show 4.2.2 channels.

So, i got my thinking cap on - and tried an app on my FIRE TV CUBE (android OS) called DREAM PLAYER TV (it is a PAID app with limitations)
You configure this app to point at your Enigma2 box, and it brings in ITS channels and bouquets.
This allowed me to view the 4.2.2 channels (inc Bisto ones) on my TV rather than using VLC on a laptop. (We all know VLC can play back 4.2.2)

There might be a more subtle solution to this, so please do tell.

But i got it working - and the 4.2.2 was fluid, not jerky - but did have to switch on interlacing to get it playing smooth.

Hope this might help others!
Cheers!

so, another test ...
on 7e - the combo can show a small squishy output on a 4.2.2 feed (does reveal sometimes but reboots box)
NOR-044 M4 MAIN
12642 V 9599
using my method, via imported M3U - and watching v firestick \ Dream player app, in this case reveals the ski-jumping- and VERY watchable.

even being able to extract all found channels as an m3u is a real handy thing - if theres a stream that interests you on the combo, but it doesnt play right, at least you can play in VLC on a laptop \ pc.
using the format...

i think if GTMEDIA - sorted out their inbuilt player, it would be capable of showing these feeds better! i doubt theres much difference in processing power between the FIRE CUBE and the COMBO

i forgot to add - to get the m3u from the combo - goto your combo's ip address in a web browser, along with GTSHARE port:
in my case:

the port is set in the GTSHARE option, of settings in the "main" satellite TV app..
make sure GTSHARE is set to ON or you won't be able to get the file.

cheers!

What exactly are you trying to achieve with the Combo that you cannot with your old receiver(s)?

I saw that gt combo offers softcams menu and i just wonder if it is working here as in octagon the proton vpn
as it is android. Also i am wondering when appears the message wait for biss i have to wait because it does not
open anything... if its going to open it comes in immediately (feeds).

What's the best price for a combo , has the price gone up.

I just bought it and with delivery the price was 83 euro

Yes, but what are you trying to achieve in terms of feeds you are hoping to receive ?

Which frequencies might you be interested in and from which satellites? (your current profile setup may need revising)

Can anyone confirm if the Combo has a setting for screen resolution to correctly set the US transmissions (ice hockey feeds).

The HiSense TV (a Roku engined device) has no feature that I can try.
