GTMedia GTCombo 4:2:2 receiver

Thanks

All you need to do, is hit record, then turn off your TV (or change HDMI input to something else) and then go back to the COMBO and see if its still recording, OR to see if its stopped.
drives me potty- have to leave it on the channel on TV to successfully record something
Have you turned CEC off?

I have found the bluetooth on the Combo remote has become increasingly unreliable in the past month but it did start remembering the main TV remote to tuen on/off (which I had not asked it to do )around mid January.

Give me about 30 minutes, I was soldering the tuners to ensure a better connection to the outside world as I believe DiSEqC motor issues are all down to poor earthing/loose metal at the rear of the receiver.

I am using a 64GB USB stick for recording so unsure if I can repeat your issues.
All you have to do is hit record. Then change your TV to hdmi 2 or whatever or turn the TV off. Then go back to the hdmi on your TV for your combo and see if the recording is still happening or it's stopped and the screen has changed to menu PIP

Just done as you said, recording is still OK..

Madness. I've recently moved it to another TV and does it on both. Let me look closer at cec

With the pcb outside the box and tuner casings open to the elements (plus PSU and stick in another room) I don't think so

thats a good shout, its actually going through an HDMI switch ....(should have said, didnt think)

i'll try direct.

tried a DE-CEC passthrough device, same issue, tried another display - same issue. tried another HDMI cable - same issue

OK, receiver back together. I will try a recording after dinner.

Are you using an SD card or external usb stick/drive ?

thanks, external - USB Caddy with HDD in it, but does the same with a 64Gb stick.

i think im just unlucky with the unit.

Not as unlucky as mine, I can see the USB stick (and eject in the menu) but the recordings are not happening even though I have tried four - and got four timestamps with 0GB so far.

Stick has been formatted on the base menu so I will delve a bit deeper tomorrow.

i had to use Windows disk administrator to partition the disk, before it would see it - something about GPT and MBR boot record, too from memory

I had let the Combo format to use in other devices but it is not storing any recordings.

It was a brand new Sandisk stick less than a month ago , I wii try in the SF8008 later today to see if it has developed a fault whilst repairing the tuner cans.
