Happy Halloween

Halloween, use to be my favorite time of year when I lived in the big city, I use to love scaring the pee out of the little ones, and did a good job scaring the bejeezes out of a few Mom's also.

When I was in the broadcasting business I knew quite a few make up artists, being 6'5" I made one heck of a Frankenstein, one year I scared four blocks so bad they called the cops, I had a funny fake drivers license made up with me in my make up, name on it was ARRRRGGG Frankenstein, 1 graveyard drive, Transilvaina, 0u812, the cop's thought it was very funny, (I knew them) I wish I still had the photos, but they got lost over the years.
 
There's a silver lining ..... SWMBO has just come home laden with sweets, on the off chance we get any callers (It's only happened once in the thirteen years we've lived here) and the best part is she's chosen ones I happen to like: Jelly Tots and Skittles.

Thanks for the reminder ..
I shall of course be closing curtains ..locking the doors ...and turning out ALL lights and basically playing possum until it has passed ..
Not a people person ...particularly if they 'small humans'..
I dont even recognise this US imported Holiday / excuse to merchandise..
The kids round here dont even make the effort ..
Wrapping yourself up in a black bin bag and shouting trick or treat through your letter box shows a marked lack of imagination ...and just an excuse to beg for cash ..
They dont even want sweets ...they want cash..????

I use to go trick or treating with a large beer mug, (I was well over 21) I sometimes could make it about 3/4'rs of the way down the block.

I quit after a few years of that, the resulting hangover from too many different kinds of drinks in one night got too hard to bare.
 
I agree with @Vipersan I won't be answering the door.

Plus I don't speak any other languages, so I couldn't understand them.

Dad told me as a child, if you want something, then you will have to earn it.
 
Houses are too far apart out here in the boonies to do any real T&Ting, so they all get together in the local town and do a Trunk of Treat's, this is where everyone that wants to pulls their cars into the local park with the trunks* filled with treats, works quit well, as the little ones can fill a bag well before bed time.

*Trunk, translates to car boot for all of you East of the Mid Atlantic ridge.
