Hi all,
I am concerning about NDS because my region will use NDS for satellite.
Some friends told me that NDS is strongest CA and NDS have never been hacked until now.
Can you give me a real information of NDS?
Thank you
Hai

Well, Videoguard (same as NDS), was broken several years ago (Sky Italia)

Sky Italia wasnt using Videoguard a few years ago :D Its only the last couple of years they have been using it.

Sky Italia using the ropy old Seca/Mediaguard encryption was blown wide open.

There are rumours the first UK version of NDS Videoguard was at least partially hacked but it was closed out fairly quickly.

Basically if your pay tv provider is starting to use NDS Videoguard then either you pay for the service or you do without.

Is cracked once a year.

Always at the same time, april 1 :)

Yes, it was SECA, my fault :)

Regarding NDS, there are pirate kits for YES package (clone receiver/card, which work untill the original one is being paid)...

You mean there are experts who can hack NDS?

You need to remember that NDS hired top grade hackers to create its security for its card.

The only expert I've ever known or heard of that "could" hack NDS is the hacker who NDS hired to create its crypto algo.
_http://www.flylogic.net/ - Chris Tarnovsky, and he's already had his fair share of being hauled before the court recently so I really doubt he would bother.

It's going to be secure for a while yet.

That last bit does make sense, can you elaborate further?

Yup - the scam softcam has *some* NDS keys built into it for the Nordic Videoguard channels, which can be watched on a Linux box.

HOWEVER this isnt a full hack as its using existing known keys - and only works for the soft encrypted national channels..

And lets be honest Unless you speak Danish DR 1 & 2 arent very exciting! :D

Well, that rumour is around for quite a lot time, but very less known in internet. While I can't confirm anything, I've personally seen about 2 (or 3?) years ago some heavy used receiver, with plain white card in it(no brand no logo, etc, just empty card), opening up YES package. When I asked the owner how it does, he said that in Israel it's available to bring your receiver and card to some wise guys, they'll make clone of it, so you can use 1 sub on 2 (or more, and more you ask, more money they'll need) different places, but this is kept very secret, since police chases them heavily. If I can reckon correctly, price was about US $300 equivalent in Shekels...

Also, some private c/s servers do have YES sub, so at least, it's shareable...

the information about YES hacked card is quite new for me...any links or contact people?
Thanks

There is a lot of English programming on those channels. They don't sub the soundtrack but just have subtitles at the bottom.
