Hi,

I am just entering the world of satellite TV. I have recently bought Samsung LE46F86BDX. This TV has a DVB-T and a CI slot. I am planning to put a dish and buy a Diablo CAM with CAS 3+.

Do I need to buy an additional receiver to start receiving satellite channels. What I have read is that to control LNB on the Dish my receiver must send some signal to the dish and I am not sure weather my TV would do so.

You will need a satellite receiver. DVB-T is for terrestrial digital tv (FreeView)

Thanks for the quick response.

If DVB-T is only meant for FreeView channels then what is point of giving a CI slot.

Please ignore my ignorance.
