Thanks to my over elaborate coax system from the dishes Ive managed to do a head to head test between the tuners on the 7020 and the Duo.

Both are connected to the same lnb on the same dish, via 2 separate coax runs, and are tuned to the same frequency.

The screen caps are taken a few seconds apart on a weak APTN feed on 10.

The Duo is the one holding up better.

From this I conclude that the Duo tuner is slightly more sensitive than the 7020 :)

If you swapped over the coaxes and again got the same results then I would agree with you

Hmm. That's only at one frequency, though.

To do a rigorous comparison you'd need to sample a fair number of frequencies.

There is your task for tonight.

I, however, am watching Last Night Of The Poms.

Is that the Aussie version :)

Might do that - Ive got a spare A/B switch lying around, but thats a game for another night when Im not so tired. Pulling the cabling apart on the satellite receivers on a Saturday evening is a sure fire way of making me very grumpy :D

tuner of early dreamboxes Is known to have problems with low symbol rates though the second shot (duo) has pixelisation too
can you do test on 4.8 E 12.092V, 12.476V
