Hellas Sat 2 at 39.0°E [S2 East Beam]

Hi Zorch, yes this is exactly what i've already tried, i have the frequency stored, added it with dreamset, and nudged one click at a time with the Vbox, east then west, but never had any luck with this one. Will keep trying though, i don't give up easily!

just catching up on things here after a busy working weekend --

11.631H [2222] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [S2 East Beam] is no problem on 1.8 c.m.-- (no other east beam t.p,s though)

the real test is to receive with the 1.2 c.m. --:)
and despite quite thick cloud (no rain) i,m "just" getting this t.p. with very occasional picture break up --
time -- 21-30 p.m.

edit --- think i hit lucky there -- thicker cloud now and slight shower -- signal gone --

It's fairly dull and overcast here this morning... but I'm still receiving this transponder/channel on my 1.2m Fibo... when I checked at 8.30am the signal readings were...

11.631H [2222] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK

Deniz TV (Turkiye) [VPID 0256/APID 0258/PPID 0256] FTA

TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 86%
Signal Quality 52%

You should also be able to get a lock on...

11.459H [2950] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK

Hellas Sat Net ~ Internet/Data Stream

However... this TP usually only locks for me at night time...

I have also had a couple of fleeting locks (1-2 seconds) recently on...

11.503H [13333] 7/8 DVB-S QPSK

Still nothing here for me, weather is nice and clear at the moment but can't get a sniff of it! Thought my alignment might be a bit out but still getting decent signals from some east beam channels next door on 42E, so presume everything is ok.
 
I am surprised you guys are getting anything from this satellite/beam. What signal UK gets is very weak - 34dBW according to Sat Beams.

Whereas I'm not... my Signal Quality meter is showing that I am very close to a lock on 3-4 of the East beam transponders on 42°E... but I am not getting a lock... strange...

Yes, very strange! The only thing i can think of is the 39E east beam favours your location more than mine, and vice versa for the 42E east beam, unless anyone else can suggest a reason for this?

Edit: Just tried 11631H on 39E again, weather is very overcast, looks like rain, and guess what, got a very weak signal on it, first time ever.

11631H certainly strengthens in the evening here for me on 1.2 -- been checking it on and off during the day - and even with clear skies its been in and out of lock -- (un-watchable) --
yet tonight under heavy cloud its a good lock - no picture breakup --:confused:---
fringe reception gives some odd results sometimes --- i,m in north west yorks but only 10 miles or so from the lancashire border , so probably further off the official footprint than you are --
and turksat east beams - are only possible on 1.8 for me here .

Hi Zorch and other "39ers"

Overcast, but quite a decent signal here on 11631H at 10pm. Other TP's mentioned have a peak on the analyser, but no lock at that time.

Using the Gibby 1.2 and TBS 6925 PCI card. Will try with the DR HD F15 box presently.
 
The F15 easily brings in Deniz TV, SQ 30 -33%, but only a flicker of SQ on 11459/11503H. Will try again tomorrow AM.
 
Good lock on 11631H tonight, just about got an unbroken picture!

had friends visiting today so no time to play with satellite toys -- yet --

Nothing here either, i tend to get better reception from this beam in the evenings though, never got anything in the morning from it.
 
SatSearcher - you have quite a good arc range. Do you get anything from 60E?
 
I have done in the past, but can only get this in winter due to it being blocked out by leaves on nearby trees in the summer. Will be checking 60E & 66E out probably sometime in november when the leaves fall off!
