Can anyone give me some advice on choosing a new receiver as I am quite new to this?

Essential requirements
---------------------
HD
Motor control (will also purchase this at the same time)
Less than £100 - lower is better

Desirable requirements (in order of preference)
---------------------
Blind scan (do I really need this?)
Manage channels list on PC via USB
EPG (ideally 7 day)
USB PVR record (single channel being watched is fine)
Scheduling of recording
Network connectivity (Ethernet)
Teletext

I have been looking at the HDTV HD V8 800S2 and the Metabox HD CXCI and both seem well spec'd. I am not sure about the blind scan function or if I really need it? I don't have a motor yet but will order one at the same time and I am interested in receiving FTA channels only. Is there anything else I need to consider?

Thanks for the help.

The £100 budget looks a bit light for that spec! Have a look at the Technomate range and see how many boxes can be ticked at the that price. Personally I would put network connectivity a little higher up the list for an element of future-proofing.
