Hello Everyone,:-wave

I'm a newbie to this forum so PLEASE be patient with me ....PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE .

My problem is that I can only get BBC 1, 2 & BBC Northern Ireland(ex pat =)) ) from around 11.00/11.30 am and I start to lose these channels at around 18.00/18.30 pm ( GMT+2)

I have no SKY card so therefor I only view the FTA channels, I have NO PROBLEMS getting Sky News, CNN , Euronews etc.

Here are my "set up" details .......
Location - Corsica
Digibox - Panasonic -TU-SDB40
Dish Size -1Mt
Dish Angle - 38° (approx)
LNB - Advanced Universal LNB BS-155A, Frequency 10.70 to 12.75 .... Low 9.75 to 10.60 GHZ ( details supplied from the makers label)
Signal Test details .... Signal Strength 70% Signal Quality 90%
Default Transponder - 11.775 V ... Symbol Rate 27.5 .... FEC 2/3

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated , many thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

You need to get a bigger dish. These channels are broadcast off Astra 2D which has a footprint spotted onto northwestern Europe.

Many thanks Analoguesat for your advice regarding fitting a bigger dish , I had looked already at the Astra footprints and perhaps I'm wrong, but I seemed to fall well within the 1 mt dish range.

But perhaps these footprint examples are not very accurate ? and only to be used as a rough guide .

As I have never read any reports regarding satellite reception in Corsica on any of the forums that I have visited, I was wondering if there was anyone on the forum who has any experience of getting BBC 1, 2 etc in Corsica or knows someone living in Corsica who can receive these channels without any problems ??????

Many Thanks ... RoyR

Astra 2D (the satellite carrying the BBC ITV etc) is a funny bird, there are pockets of good reception and pockets of very poor reception.

Looks like you need a 1.5m dish in Corsica though:
