My Satellite Setup
0.9m dish, Technomate TM2600 Super motor, Blade BM5000S receiver.
My Location
Frome
Hi everyone. I'm having trouble setting up my motorized setup. I have tried to set it up properly by reading discussions on forums, including this forum, more I try worse the outcome. Now I became so frustrated I'm thinking about taking it down and calling a specialist to replace everything and let them do the job completely. But before I do that I have recently called a company and the guy told me he would charge £100 just for setup (my original installation would stay, he would just do the alignment and set up the receiver). What should I do? I don't think I can do better myself. Any suggestions? Maybe there's a kind person around Frome area who could help me out or something. My setup so far is: 0.9m dish with a Technomate TM2600 Super motor on a L shape pole and Blade BM5000S receiver. Hopefully somebody can help me out!

I would advise you get rid of the L shape bracket - it usually isn't strong enough for that size dish and motor.
If you check the forum, some T&K brackets and a sturdy length pole would be a much better option.
If possible take some pictures, and upload them to the forum - this will help the installers identify your problem.

I am on holiday at the moment but no problem visiting Frome when I am back next week. Send me a PM and we'll go from there

WOOHOO! That's great news! I can't PM yet though. :(

A handful more Posts and you can ........................

I'll take some pictures tomorrow and hopefully that will help to figure out what could be done with my setup.

This is my first install (there won't be more I promise), don't laugh I know it's rubbis h. :D

Actually it looks very good: You've even created drip-loops, which so many don't.

I shan't comment on the L Mount, as that's already been done, but at least it looks to be a robust one.

Well done.

All working to your satisfaction now?

The problem is with the setup, it's been like this from the beginning, that's why I have asked for help. I need someone to fix it for me. I have never done it before and I thought it's easy to install and all. To my surprise it's not.

Ah, I see: Sorry, I thought the matter had been resolved.

Someone local should be able to sort it within an hour as you've done all the donkey work.

I have asked some people locally but they either don't do motorized, they don't seem to know properly or they want to charge too much. I should have called somebody straight from the beginning. Anyway, I got in touch with Captain Jack from here, who might come and hopefully sort me out.

I hope you're right. I got no nerves anymore. :-D

Is that you hanging from the window ?
He he he, well spotted, I was looking at the photos trying to figure out what you mean. That's my monkey hanging onto his life. :-P
