Help...only One Cable!

movin into new place...One! Sat cable is tracked into the wall to living room socket and comes out under the roof tiles...(spot on south facing!)...hence can a splitter be used to one dish for S*Y and the other to a 85cm dish with motor...any help or advice would be greatly welcomed...:-worship

Definitely not.... you cannot use a splitter as signals are being sent up the cable to control the oscillators and control the reception frequency i.e. horizontal high band, vertical high band, horizontal low band vertical low band. You need to swap the lnb for a twin or quad (blank two outputs) and install another cable to second stb

You will have to run a new cable up for the motorised system, or disconnect the Sky dish and use the existing cable.

You can use a stacker/destacker to have two separate sat inputs down one cable and separated in the house. Good for Sky+ or just having 2 dishes going into 2 receivers. I don't know if one of the cables will work with a motor though.

Thanks all...Yep doing some readin...looks like stacker/destacker will do 'if cable is good!' also seen 'Spaun' option which might work with loop-through on the STB's.... with 5KY on the 'A' Lnb!

ordered 'CHIETA 4x1 DiSEqC Switch WSD-2041 AKA Heavy Duty' 6$ in flea bay!

Input Frequency 900~2400 MHz
Insertion Loss 1.5 dB
Protocols 1.0, 1.2, 1.3, 1.6, 2.0
Output Return Loss 6.5 dB
Isolation 25 dB
Passing Current 450 mA max
Control Signal Position + Option
Operating Temperature 0 Deg C ~ 60 Deg C

let ye know how it goes...+ read that 5Ky is on 'A' (port1) and loop through Sat STB to 5Ky an workin so who know maybe a little luck!
