so you reckon i should ignore the handbook stick it on 50.Adjust the elevation of my dish accordingly and then try and track my arc???
I get everything from 28.2E - 30W. i get some transponders on 42E but cant find 36 or 39 E.

Yes put it on 50 ( or whatever your latitude is). The motor scale is marked LATITUDE, so you just set to your latitude. With it like you have it, your arc will come down too much at the sides.

have i mis read the instructions then???? To me it says to set the motor at 40...

Your Latitude is as stated in post #20.

To me it says 50, besides I know its 50 anyway (LATITUDE). It says adjust the ELEVATION with an inclinometer, if you did that then yes 40 would be correct. But the motor is marked latitude, not elevation.

It does indeed say 50.

The table you are using is much the same as for most other DiSEqC Motors. Read carefully and it says that for a site Latitude of 50 (Which is, nominally, what yours is), the Motor Elevation is 40.

But the scale you show on the Motor is a Latitude scale, so should be set at 50.

Some Motors have Elevation scales as well (on the opposite side of the bracket) ............ If yours does, you'll see that Latitude scale 50 corresponds to Elevation scale 40.

So don't ignore the Instructions - just interpret them correctly!

My motor says latitude both sides and same scale .I assumed that it was a conversion table.(typical ex squaddie!!! Need to be told exactly).
Anyhow i went out to my dish at 11pm last night and adjusted accordingly and bingo 39E is there so i thank every one for there help.
. I cant seem to get any signal on arena sport.could i still be off? Or would that be right cos of the size of my dish?
cheers

Well recovered, Sir!

Don't know about Arena Sport.

Not sure if you mean the TP on which Arena Sport transmits, however it is a scrambled channel if memory serves, so you may not get anything on an FTA scan.

Arena Sport??

Which satellite is that on, and at what frequency, as kingofsat says 16E not 39E?

Arena sport 1-4, Hellassat 39E, 11012V, 30000, 3/4, Dvb S-2, txp 2, Beam F2,
Would have thought you would get them, if your getting other channels of F2 beam, although some transponders are stronger than others!

Just noticed that's a DBVS2 TP. I'm not completely sure but I think your receiver only receives DVBS TP's.

I'll check what I get on my TD110, also on a TD88 (got one lying around somewhere, as I dropped it) if I get time later, yes it it is a DVB-S2 transponder, which normally means that a HD receiver is needed.

Ok, getting 11012V/30000 with the Arena sports channels very easily on my TD110. So should be easy on the TD88 too. One thing I did notice is that in my channel list I had Arena Sports already, but on 11102V, not getting anything on that at all.

Presumably thats an SD box too, so no you won't get that transponder with it.

Apparently it is 52dBW in the south - a TD54 would do!

(not to mention a zone 1)
