I have 60 cm satellite dish on hotbird at 13” east and I heard about the new (hotbird 10) will be launched at 7" west temporary to replace Atlantic bird 4 till they make the new nilesat 201 on 2011
My question is can I get motor for my satellite to move from 13" east to 7" west

as i have ART card on hotbird and i would like to keep it

Thanks

I very much doubt that anything at that location will be visible to a 60cm dish in the UK.

Not much point in motorising a 60Cm dish mate, you need a dish at least 90Cm, but the bigger the better. You will not get anything from 7W with your dish, might not even get anything with a 1.2 Mtr dish, it is a very difficult bird to get at the best of times. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that us the way things are.

A 1.8m is not big enough for AB4 where I'm located, though some tps possible.
If the new sat has the same footprint as AB4, then you'll need even bigger.

Other 7W verticals possible on a 1m to 1.5m, in the south east, even down to an 85cm for strong tps.

Depends how they align the beam on HB10. Shes identical to Hotties 8 & 9 and they cover an enormous area - from western Europe virtually into India.

Hello and thanks for the replies
But what everybody don’t relies is they will put most of the nilesat channels on this new hotbird 10
And hotbird is European satellite and covers all Europe as everybody knows all what will happen is instead of going to the normal place which is 13 east it will go to 7 west till they make the new nilesat 201 so we should receive it with the same hotbird normal dish size
I hope I made it clear for everybody

I very much doubt they are going to put the Nilesat channel on Hottie 10.

Id say it will just be the Atlantic Bird 4 channels,

_http://www.flysat.com/nilesat.php

plus give them a bit of badly needed extra capacity, with AB4 sent to a new home elsewhere along the orbital arc.

If you are hoping to get all the interesting Nilesat channels on an ultra widebeam, dream on.

Until it starts transmitting there is no real way of knowing, if it has a similar footprint to Hotbird 8, then if centred on the Middle East, the UK could possibly end up in a blind spot.
