Hi Friends..

I was looking for information on how to setup my own dish at home so that I can view the free channels. That includes FTA channels from india.

I need following details.
1. What hardware would be required and approximate costs?
2. What channels would be available?
3. can i get pay channels afterwords?

Which receiver,Lnb & Dish should I buy.. which one is better

Hi Swapnil,

From your post I guess you are in India? If that's the case I don't think many on this board can help you in detail because this is a British board.

It would help if you specify which satellites you want to receive. To find out which channels are available in your area, Lyngsat is helpful. Here is the list of the Asian satellites: _http://www.lyngsat.com/asia.html"]http://www.lyngsat.com/asia.html

For each of the satellite positions, you can find listed the channels that are free to air from that satellite. Also, in the "Beam" column there is a link to the map of the coverage of the beam that the channels transmit on. This will help you determine what satellite dish size you will need to receive the channels.
