help sky dish plz

sky hd just away 2 start exsperimenting with a voager 2

is it worth adding 2 more lnbs to my sky dish will i recive any more channels than i do just now with my satcatcher i allredy have the sky hd pack just wanting 2 see what else is out there i bought a 90cm dish but because in in flats my nabour wont let me put it up is it worth adding the lnbs to the sky dish i live in aberdeen any help is mutch appreciated thanks
 
is there any one out there that can respond. just returned the big dish is there any point or should i just put it down 2 a lost cause and wait till i move out of the flat 2 a house
 
Hi,

Three hours for a reply on a Saturday afternoon can't be bad can it?

Anyhow, Multi LNb arrangement would ideally require a larger dish, ie. 80cm given your location.
 
the minidishes are too small for putting other lnbs to it.

does your flat have a balcony ? as you could mount a larger dish on a patio stand

Dont be so impatient - its a summer Saturday afternoon and folk are out and about with their families, or having BBQ's in the garden. We normally say wait TWO WEEKS before asking again
 
i wasnt being impatient sorry if i came across that way thought that because i posted my first post in the wrong form yesterday i was in the bad books no balcony on the ground floor unfortunatly :o)
 
OK Andy - no prob mate :)

If you are stuck for putting the dish up then theres no harm in experimenting with hanging the spare lnb's off the Sky dish. Its not ideal but if its the only opportunity you have to experiment then go for it - you have nothing to lose.

Can you stick the big dish outside your flat on a couple of fence posts banged into the ground?? (Sod the neighbours :D)
 
as your on the ground floor do you have a clear view as you could mount the dish on a stand outside your window ?
 
i changed the stones outside my window from brown 2 white and the boy blew a fuse so i changed them back thought nothing else of it till i decided to put the dish up this afternooon and he lost it again so i was in 2 minds 2 return the dish or hold on 2 it thats why i was in a hurry 4 a reply returned it no probs this afternoon hopefully get my promotion in a few weeks and get a garden and then can play about till my harts contet
 
Good god - I wouldnt let the neighbours dictate what I can and cant do with my dishes in the garden.

Bang a fence post in and tell him to mind his own business :D
 
You may be able to get Hotbird and Astra 28E on the minidish in your location, I have had them on mine down here.
 
think im getting them allready getting bout 1500 channels with an initial scan the sat catcher although think it could just be the sky chanels x4 cant check as i just split the signal from the sky dish to the sat and my wifes just home from the psb concert and touching the telly on a saterday night even though i just bought the 50" LG isnt worth my fingers im under the thum i knoe but thats what u get for marrying young
 
Lol. If you have just spli the downlead from the dish for 2 receivers it wont work correctly as the lnb is a powered device not a passive lump of plastic. Replace the lnb with a quad (4 output) and run seperate cables from the dish to each receiver.
 
it uis a quad thats in just now but didnt want 2 drill another hole in the wall till i knew what was happening with the dish so just split the hd box from input 1 at the bottom and fed it to the catcher

That will confuse the lnb which requires command signals to be sent to the lnb depending on the frequency of the channel you select to watch, you potentially could damage one the other or both of the stb's doing what you are doing along with the lnb
