Hi, i have just bought a dm500s second hand and when i bought the box the man said it was an original, i bought it and have just set it up tonight it had a gemine image on it. i have been watching it for about 2 hours when suddenly a message appeared on the screen, i cannot use my remote or switch the box off and the message is as follows
WARNING- CLONEBOX DETECTED- SYSTEM STOP CONTACT YOUR DEALER- ADIOS AMIGI!
can you please tell me what i need to do?

Send it back to where you purchased it from, & get your money back. The Gemini image has detected its a clone and wiped the bootloader.
 
You will have to return it to the seller and demand your money back...If it is indeed a clone, then the boot loader is now toast. It can be revived, there is a popular thread about this.
If for some reason this is a proper Dreambox but it still went funny then I think the manufacturer in Germany will sort it out.
 
I have bought this from someone and it is second hand, and i payed him through paypal as gift. it will be very difficult to get the money back, if you can direct me to anyone who can fix this or direct me to discussion about this i will be very grateful, i am gutted
 
Paypal gift is a big con. Put a complain in about the seller anyway - you never know.

Do a search for jtag or jtagging here in the dreambox section - the info you want is here somewhere.
 
Click on the Go Advanced option, bottom right, then the attachment icon.
 
Guys i think this is bit to much for me to handle to fix this :( if anyone fixes this or if they know some who fixes this can you please please pm me

Considering how cheap a clone DM500 seems to be it might cost more to get repaired than buy new, considering the cost of postage and repair, and even when fixed you're still going to have the same problems regarding limited software.

is this the jtag cable i am looking for? it says dm500c is there different ones for 500c and 500s
