Help with Pace 2500 please

My Satellite Setup
Sky HD + Pace V2 FTA + Comag SL 55 85 CM dish.

I have an old Pace 2500 which I have just got out and its not working any more. The box comes on but says Searching For Listings all the time. And there is No Signal on it. But my Sky+ is fine. Is there any way to fix this? There is power going in to the LNB because there is a spark when I touch the coax on the satellite input.
 
Probably a dead tuner, a common fault on that make and model. If you are good with a soldiering iron you can order a new tuner online and change it yourself. If you don't fancy doing it yourself then it probably isn't worth paying someone to do it so you could sell it on eBay as faulty for someone else to fix, or just give it away :)
 
OK then. I might just give it to a satellite shop. And pick up another cheap second hand one. I want a spare box for the radio stations.
 
Before you do check which operating software you have(services,4,5) and check lnb settings.when did you last use the digibox?
 
It was over a year ago. But was working fine. Will my Pace box V2 die like this I have had that over a year so its not under guaranty now.
 
Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of luck with Sky+ boxes, nearly a 70% return rate with the mkII boxes, still a nice tool though.

I just think that you have missed many over the air updates so maybe thats why its not working.if it is the tuner then like polomint said,its easy and cheap to change.
 
How do you up date the software? Do you have to press all the buttons in when you turn it on?
 
Just unplug at the mains, then whilst holding the backup button in (the one on the box, not the remote), plug the unit back in and wait for all the lights to flash. If the unit starts to download, you should see a message on your TV telling you that it is updating.

PS. It obviously needs to be connected to the dish for this to happen. :)

Its been updating for over an hour now. Should I unplug it. Its not going to work.
 
Leave it for a while longer, then try it again a couple of times, it has been known to take several attempts. :)
 
Then again,if the tuner is faulty,it won't happen.If still updating,power off and on again.Press services,4,01 select,lnb settings.check l.o. setting 9.75 and 10.6 and power on,just to confirm your settings are correct.
 
There is now Signal Strength but no Quality. The Strength is around 95%
 
any channels working,sky news etc?
 
NO still doing the same. Will try again tomorrow.
 
Is it possible that your coax connection is faulty? Perhaps it was working on a previous receiver but the F connector is now a bit loose (or something) going into the digibox.
