hh90 problem

tm2200 hh motor
windows 7 on packard bell all in one touchscreen

hi, I have a motorised system with the hh90, I changed from 16e to 28.2 e and thats where it is now staying and wont move anywhere, tried going back to zero but no joy, what I would like to know is does these motors just stop working with no warning and is there anyway to test it , I guess that if I am getting a signal the power to the motor would be ok as its the same cable,any help would be appreciated
 
Try rebooting the receiver and resetting the motor.

In DiSEqC 1.2 control mode> motor control> reset system with a TM5400.

hi I tried that and no joy it seems like the motor is dead as it says its moving to a new position on the screen but the dish does not move , even when I use fine control

Another option is to check your cables... especially if the long U bolts foul the cable... or look for water in a join etc..

power can still be seen all the way to the LNB and the satellite signal seems OK but the motor will not work.

well checked all cables and connections and all are OK so I guess its a new motor time, I wonder if the recent high winds has done something to it
 
anyone have any recommendations as to a good motor, its quite a windy position the dish is in as its on a pole in the garden as I cannot get a clear view on the side of the house
 
Moteck 2100 / TM2200 prove to be good :)

Strong winds do damage motors ….even if it looks like nothing's happened to the dish after a period of strong winds.. strong winds have still shortened the life of the motor …….. and they can finish one off.
 
just recieved my new tm2200 super hh motor but in the book it does not say that it supports usals
is this the case or do I have to use diseqc1.2
 
TM2200 supports USALS/DiSEqC 1.3/Go to X.
 
just in case anyone is interested I have changed the motor everything is up and running ok, the old hh90 is solid the arm wont budge no matter what you do to it so I can safely say the high winds finished it off, what I did notice is that the tm2200 is nearly twice the size of the hh90
 
As a matter of interest, how long did the original Motor last before its sudden demise?

Of course, the next task is to strip it down and refurbish it as a spare - and to Post pics of the knackered internals here!
 
I have no idea how old it is but from what I can gather it was in place but not used as a motor for a long time as I had quite a few probs lining things up when I inherited the system. I will have a look inside I dont know if its viable to refurb it though

just stripped it down and the little plastic gears on the motor are stripped and the gear on the worm drive is also stripped, the actual worm gear looks a bit flat as well so I think it will go in the bin

when you look at the size of the plastic components used to drive a 85cm dish and then add on the wind factor I am not surprised it has happened

I will give it a go but I dont think my camera is up to showing enough detail as a close up
