hi all just a quick post to say hi

new to the whole sat game and tomorrow i will be installing my motorised system so hopeful ill be posting here soon with all that went wrong lol :-ohcrap

got a 80cm dish dark motor and a tm5200d+super just want to pick up all the fta Europe sats and see wots out there

Welcome and good luck. I've been installing fixed dishes since 1990 and have yet to try a motorised install. I keep thinking I should do one just to see how it goes!
 
Same here. I have never tried a motorised dish. I can´t see much of an advantage, most of the stuff I watch is on Astra.
 
Welcome to the forum there is only one thing better than a motorised dish & that is 2 motorised dishes :D

my first motorised install was my second hand - 1.8 channel master - it was a great learning experience - :eek:
had 12 years of fun using it since then - :)

Being new to this I am wondering what the advantages are. I just watch TV from 28E Astra channels.

In that case there is no advantage.

Some people enjoy finding weak or obscure satellites, others like to hunt for news and sports feeds, whilst others are just looking something different to watch.

hi all woke up this morning and remembered i had a shoot on ( clay pigeon ) so my day was taken up with this but on a good note i got my best score ever yaaa

hopefully some time this week we will be up and running

just a quick one to let you know on my progress . got everything set up and wife came home and well had a fit lol. to cut a long story short i will not be having my 80cm motorised system on front of the house now :-( so instead i was wondering if i could use my sky mk4 zone 1 dish to pick up 19.2e ?

basically i will be using the aerial in the loft to view general freeview and then a dish pointed at 19.2e but will the little sky dish be upto it ?
 
Perhaps you could put it at the rear of the house, mounted above the gutter?
 
So I just picked up 19.2 using my sat finder and with the sky dish I works well kind of . The question I need answering is my technomate 5200+ super has a list of channels on 19.2e and I can view about half of them I would say so is it a case of too smaller dish or am I missing something to why I can't view the other channels ?

Either the Channel list is out of date (You might want to do a Blind/Auto Scan) or the LNB settings are incorrect - should be set to Universal, Universal 1, Universal 9750/10600 depending upon the Technomate's syntax. (Should be pretty obvious which applies)
