I am trying to receive Hispasat 1C/D in Germany. I have an 80cm dish and an off-the-shelf STB made by a Germany firm called Skymaster, which is cheap and cheerful and aimed at those wanting to view Astra or Hotbird.

I am pointing it at 30 degrees west but no joy - is there some obvious thing I'm doing wrong? Do I need to tune it manually?

Any clues gratefully accepted.

Hi JML welocome to the forum.

Well you are definitely in the footprint.
can you do a manual transponder scan ? as some are a lot stronger than others.

There is a post here somwhere that covers a lot of satellites, with the strongest transponders as seen from the UK.
If you can't find it, bear with me for a couple of hours and I'll
do a scan myself and post what I find

OK, Hispasat 1c/d aren't listed on my Skymaster DX24 box. Any ideas how I update or do a manual tune?

Thanks again,

JML
