hello,
there was a drop last night about 11 pm italy time.
not from solar activity but from 1N shifting in orbit.
they corrected it and it came back up.

Yes when you see that awesome power it makes it hard to believe that our sun is one of many thousands in our galaxy which is one galaxy of the many thousands in the universe....Suppose that makes us very very small indeed.

I haven't seen tonights episode yet, but I was very impressed with the images (and it's ability to shift time) of the sun brought about by Sam Neill in the six parter 'Space' from the BBC a few years back.

You noticed also at the moment around 11-1130 AM 1N drops, maybe as the sun is tracking the same arc as the satellites, and blocks out Astra2 location at this time in naples
 
Just viewed it, and tbh all the pertinent points could have been wrapped up in half the time.

The solar audio observatory was interesting though.

It's that time of the year when the sun is tracking behind the sats. The same happens in October.
 
Ralph said 11pm (night-time) so, unless he meant 11am (morning) that's not the answer.

The same thing happened with the original Sirius satellite at 5 East, just before the *ahem* interesting channels started.

There is a thread on the site somewhere that explains it

Just watched the prog.I don't think we need tinfoil,more like safety hats for all those birds that could drop from the sky!:-hide
