Hello to all. Has anybody heard the rumor running around here that the Dreambox group has broken Videoguard for SKY U.K.?

Not that particular one, but similar ones surface every 60 days or so.

The giveaways that they are simply rumours are the mention of some non-existent group, in this case "the Dreambox Group", but recent incarnations have been "elite team of German Hackers", Elite Italian Hackers", Elite Russian Team", the list is endless. ;)

God help us if Videoguard does go, because I guarantee every forum will cave in instantly as 8 million great unwashed hit them demanding the secret of free footy and free movies.

Sorry I forgot the other cast iron rumour, "The bloke down Scunthorpe market is selling patched boxes which get all the channels". :-rofl2

Hi,

It's your first post, so welcome to the forum!!!:) With your 12ft bud, can you get u.s tv as easily as if you were located in Florida, for example? And since Puerto Rico is like a part of the USA, do you receive u.s network stations like ABC, CBS, NBS, FOX terrestrially over the air?

Regarding your qustion about SKY UK; officially there have never been any commercial hacks. However you could hack SKY if you had the same knowledge as a mathematics professor specialised in cryptrography. With enough knowledge it is easy to open every package, especially now with cheap, incredibly huge computing power, for example GPUs used as CPUs and under your desk supercomputers. Remember the security of DIGITAL television is from the year 1995, now it's almost 2009.

Hi divibi, thanks for replying. Yes this was my first post, here. I'm a Moderator at Puerto Rico's #1 FTA forum, Yes we do recieve some of the mayor networks OTA but that's mainly restricted to the capital city San Juan. The rest of us rely on satellite systems. My Viewsat Ultra, with my two four foot antennas, brings in more than five hundred channels of the USA's best programming, I also use my BUD to capture the sat formally known as G10r which also has fine stations that are really Free to air. My interest in SKY is ofcourse SKY-Mexico. I am presently recieving some trasponders thru the IKS system thru my Neosat, I really wish to be able to see it over the regular sat system. LOL

Welcome to the forum!
How about posting some pictures of your dishes in the Pictures of Members" section? :)

Hello luiscolo. Would you please tell us the name of the board you're on ? I'm interested about the fringe reception conditions in Puerto Rico.

You may have a slight wait... he only made two posts that one being last September and his last activity on the forum was over one month ago

Hello again to my european freinds. The reason I don't say hello often is that I keep sending my PC in for repairs and they keep wiping out your site but have new PC and have you on my favorites list. I can say that in North America 22" dishes can be used, we are in a fringe area in Puerto Rico as you know and must use at least 3 feet dishes. It is only recently that we're able to see two and three sats on one dish, as in the USA, this because of the providers new #11 satellite witch is very powerfull. As you will see, we try not to mention the providers name to avoid lawsuits. We are very sat minded here following this sat from its launching, to its owners little by little walk across the sky, to is present 110W position. This sat is the home of most of the best Pay Per Views(see lyngsat). We are currently watching the change to Nagra3encription and are all in doubt to what will happen, allthough I believe Internet Card Sharing will be around in the meantime. LOL

Hello, nice to see you again :)

I understand that this provider is very popular but speaking of fringe reception i meant in general also other satellites and not just the mainstream.

One of many examples is this but i think this is not the right place to discuss it. That's why i asked for the link to the board you're in or in a separate thread in the Fringe Reception section on this board.

Best regards from Germany.

Yes, I guess that the Star One sat could be seen from Florida USA but probably just the C band witch has real FTA. He would have to have a large BUD. You are right in that the Ku band seems to be beamed to Brazil and anyway Lyngsat says is allready Nagra3. The latest here used by many is the Amazon satellite on 61.0 W. You must have a dish larger than 5 1/2 feet and their currently seeing 124 very good channels. My personal info is that I resign as Mod this week from "FTA CARIBE" . Four or five Mods started bashing the USA in their avatars and signatures and I protested. I said that any moderator can speak his mind in a political thread but not when he's representing his forum. Moderators I think, should then be apolitical. Well this was brushed off so I thought the honorable thing to do was resign, so I did. LOL

Where? i live in Scunny and ive been to every market stall and no one knows what i'm on about;);););)

Registration has been disabled for awhile 'cause we had a charlie scare recently (That's what we call our provider) and the top Neosat site being hacked this week didn't help much. It is supposed to open soon by invitation. Will be watching for your new thread, thanks

There are reasonably well founded rumours (!) that SkyViewingCards are due for reissue in late Spring anyway - so any hard work done to attempt to crack NDS will be in vain.

Well done Luis - I agree with you there. Politics are better left out of hobby sites - after all there are so many specialist sites and blogs who do nothing but politics, where one could go and voice his irrelevant opinion about politics :)

You can take away my subscription but you can never take my Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeview!
