Hi All,

Im a new satellite tv user and would like to know if it is really posible to view Hotbird 13 on my location at 9 deg S 160 deg E (Solomon Islands). I already checked it on lyngsat with negative result, but Satellite Finder Online gave me a different result of Az=76.5,El=-60.2, Skew=-253.8.

I just want to make sure if it is really viewable or that result is just a estimation? If it is posible, what size/type of dish, LNB, and receiver should i get?

No chance - its well below your western horizon. In fact you have the entire thickness of the Earth between you and the Hotbirds.

Although OT, i would like to ask Swack for which satellites do you need a 6m dish there ? Is it for C-Band or Ku-Band ?

It is in his profile Cakrawarta 1 107.7E and it is C-Band according to the frequecies

looking at a footprint for that it would only require a 2meter dish, or in that case 6ft

I'm not so sure about that because of the "," between 6m and Cakrawarta. And besides that it's S-Band, not C-Band. Would be interesting if he is using it for any of the very tight corean, japanese or thai beams from 78.5E/110E/113E/116E

Thanks Analoguesat.

The satellite was already there when we moved in so I am not 100% sure of its size, but it's bigger than a 2m dish. Sorry for the mistake, like i said i'm a new satellite user.
