Have a look here: h**p://www.satellitesuperstore.com/hot.htm

I think the dish should have at least 1,00 meter.
In Northen Portugal we use an 0,85 cm dish and is ok.
Price of dish between 0,65 and 1,00 is very small. Só get the big one, that's my opinion and put a support for a double Lnb so that you can see both satellites ASTRA and Hotbird as well.
Hope you get it right.

No, 65 cm should be fine for Ireland, particularly Belfast which is on the eastern side.

1m is complete overkill for Northern Ireland.

Even a zone 1 minidish will be plenty big enough unless it rains heavily!

Edit - have to type faster!

Something around 80 cm would be needed if the OP wants 13E and 19E on one dish :)

hi rolfw,

know it's a stupid question but how does your map work? the numbers get less as you go further out, how does that equate to dish size?

The signals are strongest near the centre of the coverage area. The numbers are downlink powers in dBW

Use this page to give you an idea of required dish size when you only have powers:

I thank all friends that have given their best ideas, but, I would choose a dish of 1,00 meter at least, because i'ts easier to direct and get the sats signals, and also because when it rains in small dishes we loose the image.

Why shell we try to save 2, or 3 pounds in a dish. Price differences between a small and medium dish is so...

Sorry friends if my English is not good enogh . I'm Portuguese and only lived in England for a short time.
Hope that you get the right thing and feel pleased with it.

A larger dish is HARDER to align because of the narrower boresight (acceptance angle) of larger dishes

You may be right, but my experience showed me that with larger dishes I could get to the sat faster then with small dishes.
But I'm an amateur that only do it for me and a friend.

We used a sat finder named "digisat Pro Accu" which is very good.
