Wondering how analogue telephone over cable TV (soon to be switched off) works in the UK . At the first cabinet (pictured), is the circled cable coaxial or 100 copper pairs? i.e. are the telephone calls converted at the first cabinet to coaxial or straight to fibre at a later cabinet? thanks

Thats just a big copper cable punch down block so it must be copper pairs rather than coax that cable. As theres no electronics there to convert it?

thanks. there is DC power within the coaxial. The cabinet doesn't have any external power
