hello
i am here in naples italy and install all types of systems
what are you going to watch with this card??
no bbc 1
no bbc 2
no itv

probably just tv 5
anything on astra 2 d will not be received here in the naples area.
we tested it with a 4 meter in diamater dish
some one in england will have to call up sky and have them activate it so you can see tv 5 uk channel 105.
or you can upgrade it and watch all the other channels.
you need to give your friend the box number and card number so it can be mated up.
but noi free view here.
you should have a 1 meter dish min.or larger and the average italian installer in this area has no clue on 28.2 east.
i can not post my numbeor the here if you are uk military call villa B OR the HIVE they have my number

Hi all, sorry if I pop in, I live in the Naples area too ( north east, nola ) and currently have a 1,40 meter dish + uk 3 channel pack subscription. Everythink ok with astra 2a/2b/eurobird and of course no bbc 1/2, no astra 2d at all. Do you think it's not worth getting a 1,8 / 2m in order to try to get more ? Would I just waste money in that case ?

Thank you in advance for your advices,

Ciao
Vincenzo

I read the reply you have quoted on its original thread and in my opinion the poster does not know what he is talking about - a "professional" installer who doesn't know you can receive ITV1 with a white Sky card in Naples!

If you want to get Astra 2d then you may find some info on the following link. This site is dedicated to Astra 2d fringe reception (-http://astra2d.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Italy).

Hi again all and thank you for your answers. Effectively with my current configuration I am already able to receive the ITV1 versions (I followed your advices) carried on 2b north/south and also the irish versions for channel 4 / e4/more 4 etc etc. No problem also with bad weather conditions, heavy rain, etc etc , 24h/24. Same as for the hd channels not carried on astra 2d. When the 140 dish was set up, the installer showed me that the signal from the 2d frequencies was "something" more than 0 but too weak to be received correctly. Currently my dish in on my room's balcony. I cannot set up there more than 200 cm dish, for evident reasons, so my question was if anyone by any chance in my area had found some improvements/results with 180/200 dishes or it's not worth it, also considering that the the price for a 180/200 cm dish is quite higher than a 140. On the Astra2d forum it is suggested a 240 or more for my area, but as you agree, in fringe areas things can change quickly from place to place.....Ciao Vincenzo
