How can I secure my dish?

Hi guys,

I need to try eliminate all wind play from my dish.

Signal is good on BADR6 but when wind blows it breaks up.

I have attachaed picture of the dish.

I was thinking a bracket to the wall and maybe something under? I am not to sure.

Any advice?

I'm struggling a little with the perspective, so can you tell us how far the pole is from that wall?

If it isn't too far, surely you can fashion a brace between the wall and the upper part of the pole?

That would probably be enough.
 
Its about 40CM from the wall mate.

I was thinking doing that, but wasnt sure if that would be enough?
 
Do you know which parts are swaying in the wind?

Is the pole moving as well?

Some guy wires perhaps?

40cm is 1ft 4" in old money, so I should think that a stout brace bracketed to the wall and clamped as high up the pole as possible would eliminate movement - If I recall, your base is pretty stable, so it'll be the upper part of the pole that is swaying slightly, under pressure from windage on the dish.

That said, the pole is also quite meaty, so perhaps you could follow Robbo's line and ascertain exactly what's occurring?
 
Knock a 6ft fence post in behind it and use some slotted steel strip to bolt the rim to the post :D

Its the top of the pole swaying back and forth abit in wind due to the height of it.

I think if I could take TIVU advice and put a backet to the wall, and then possibly something on the actual pole like mentioned above that would probly help!

The whole dish/pole is solid together the issue is just the actual pole is swaying in wind due to the height and weight of the dish :(

Well judging by your saga so far, you're not short on determination, so I'm sure you'll hack it somehow :)

Not quite meaty enough, a 114mm diameter (4.5 inches in old money, LOL),would have been better. But I'm sure with a bit of bracing at the top as said will sort it.
 
yes I thought for the size and weight of that dish the diameter 4.5inch would have been better, what is it now 3inch ?

before the dish went up you should have got some pieces welded on and bolted into some concrete to make like a tripod stand.

who's wall is that ? yours or a neighbours as get a length of steel with a t piece end n bolt to the wall and fix the pole end with a 3inch exhaust clamp should stop it moving about maybe 2 of these
 
Hi mate,

Its my wall but it looks like i will be getting a 2.5M Channel master now and it comes with the mount so that should be alot more secure.
