Softcam - just a piece of software loaded onto certain (mainly linux based hobby) receivers. The aforementioned SCAM 3.57 has some of the Nordic channel keys built into it so it automatically decrypts the service.

For a subscription your best bet is a friend or relative in the country whose service you wish to watch. If you have to use a UK based reseller the Nordic services tend to be expensive.

Anything is possible if you are willing to pay the asking price.

Have a look through the forum advertisers, most of them sell subs, and may be able to get what you want for a price.

HOWEVER, each country has separate services so if you want Denmark Sweden Finland & Norway you require 4 individual subs!

I'm sure there is a patch for the TM7100. I have it working fine on an ancient TM6900 looking at 5E.

So what's a patch?? And can you help me sort one for my Technomate?????
I don't know what the best patch is for your box as I've not been been following any discussion on it, but you can get the unofficial patches from here:
http://download.for-better.biz/bbs/list.php?board=tm7100

You need to unzip the patch file (if it's zipped) and place the .stb file on a USB stick. Plug it into your 7100 and go to the USB data transfer menu and select the new patch file and wait for the receiver to sort itself out.

Before you do that you may want to make a backup of your channel list by selecting "Upload Channel" first. Some also claim you should do a full reset of the box to factory settings before and after a patch but I haven't done that.

Just make sure you get the right patch for your box or else you might destroy the box or at least make it difficult to resurrect without additional kit (eg serial cable and PC with serial port or USB adaptor to force the correct firmware back on). Do this at your own risk!

After the patch is installed, assuming it's got the right code programmed in, you should be able to decode some of the FTV channels on 11.785V (SVT 1&2 regionals), 11.881H (SVTB, SVB24, Kunskapaskanalen), 12.015V (NRK1HD, NRK1, NRK2, NRK3), 11.823V (DR1&2), and 12.476V (TV2 Denmark).

Keep in mind that these channels could be removed at any time. Enjoy while you can.

You can buy them pretty much anywhere, even Tesco. If you are not going to use it much just go for the smallest/cheapest you can find as the file itself is only about 5MB. Do you not have USB hard disk already plugged into your 7100 to record programmes? You could even use that.

It's really quite easy to do, but don't blame us if it goes wrong. ;)

No I don't have one of those either - I had no idea that I could even record programmes from the Tech. 7100 HD - So is that possible too??

Yes, that's pretty much the point of the TM 7100, it's got two sat tuners so you can record and/or view two channels at the same time on different transponders, unlike my box the TM 6900 which can only record or view one transponder at a time.

Hmmmm problem is this: I had my set up installed by a guy in Lincoln who sort of ripped me off!! He charged me a small fortune £850.00 to install the Dish and Technomate 7100HD - which I've since found out was a total rip off!!!

Then I found another guy on another satellite forum - he came across from Cheshire, re-installed my Dish correctly etc and sort of showed me how to use the Technomate Box. But when he took down the Dish to re-install it he broke off both of the Tuners on the dish, so I now only have 1 tuner - is that going to make a difference as to what I want to do????

When you say he broke off both tuners on the dish, do you mean you only have one LNB feed from the dish to the receiver? If that is the case then the box will function similar to mine, just one feed for viewing or recording.

Just wanted to point out that DR1&2 and TV2 Denmark are no longer working on the patches. SVT and NRK still OK at the moment...

Thanks for that update - 5E has gone very poor here this summer due to tree growth.....
